I’m a Sucker for Vampires

It has been a while since I made a Monstrous Monday post.  Of course that happens when I go days and days without posting.  I am trying to be better about that.  I am trying to be better about other things but with indifferent success.  One must persevere (one being me).

He’s scary!

I throw in a monster, before I get bogged down in justifying my lack of success and begin to wonder how hard I am really trying.  A nice creepy silhouette of Nosferatu from the eponymous 1922 silent movie will take my mind off my shortcomings.  I mean, my problems.  There is a new Nosferatu in theatres now, and I have been thinking about making a trip to New Hartford, NY to see it.  I know, I know, it is cheaper to stream, but I don’t know how to do that.  Additionally, it is more of an event to go see a movie on the big screen.  And there are some great eateries around the cinema, so one could make a day of it.  If only I still had a husband to drag along.  Oh dear, that sounds like I am feeling sorry for myself, which perhaps I am.  Quick, throw in another monster!

It says NO SMOKING, but he is smoking hot, yes!

Here is a different vampire, Blackula.  I rather enjoyed that movie.  I once started to watch the sequel, Scream, Blackula, Scream.  I do not remember why I did not see all of it.  Perhaps it was a DVR malfunction.  Alas that it has never come my way again.  I really must learn to navigate Roku TV.  I would imagine there are any number of movies I would like to see available for free (I am a widow on a fixed income, you know) (yes, more whining; judge me if you are so inclined).

Somebody offer that vampire a napkin!  And some Visine!

I searched my Media Library for another vampire and found the incomparable Christopher Lee.  He looks as if he was interrupted mid-bite.

The man that set the standard.

I felt I should include Bela Lugosi, who many consider the quintessential Count Dracula.  My late husband, Steve, always found this movie a little slow.  I see what he means, but I enjoy it.  I guess I’m just a sucker for vampires (see what I did there?).  Ooh, that would make a good headline!

Maybe I Should Have Remade the Blog Post

I am just about up to a Monstrous Monday post.  It has not been a particularly monstrous day, but I am just not feeling like myself.  I think I need some monster to re-center me.  It couldn’t hurt.

Yeah, I feel like this, and I kind of look that way, too.

Here is a depiction of me, only I cause much less havoc and destruction.  Steve McQueen would find no reason to fight me.  I hope.

In case anybody was wondering what movie that was from.

I haven’t seen The Blob in a while.  It is a fun flick.  I never saw the remake.  Remakes are often disappointing, although not always.

He is smoking hot!

For example, Blacula as an update of Dracula is quite entertaining.  I understand the sequel, Scream, Blacula, Scream, is at least equally as good.  I must check it out sometime.  I hear Pam Grier is in it.  Love Pam Grier!

Quite the mash-up, no?

I don’t believe I have ever seen Dracula vs. Frankenstein, another sort of sequel or remake, but this picture was in my Media Library.  I suppose I just grabbed it because it looked cool.

I’m afraid that is exactly what they think, but of course I do not know for sure.

And here is one they never remade.  Wait a minute, I did once, a long time ago, see a movie called They Saved Hitler’s Brain.  His head was in a kind of a glass case, like you might put a cake in.  That might have been a sort of a re-boot, or this one was a re-boot of that one.  I wonder why Hitler’s Brain never made it into one of my DVD collections of movies.  Something to hope for in the future.

In the meantime, I am approaching 300 words.  Score!  Time to see if a good night’s sleep can save my brain.

A Vampire Bit My Computer

We’re having computer issues this week, so I am posting from my Tablet.  That is, one stinking letter at a time.   I had thought to make this a Wordless Week,  only right now I can’t think of anything handy to take a picture of.   Maybe my Media Library can once again come to my rescue.

He’s not singing Here comes The Sun.

I just used this picture, but we are currently watching the sequel, Scream, Blackula, Scream.  I confess, it’s pretty dull, which is why I started on the blog post.

I seem to have developed a taste for vampires.

I might as well make it a vampire post.  You know I have plenty of monster pictures in the Library.  Some feel Christopher Lee is the quintessential Dracula.  I am more of a classicist myself.

Vat do you mean you put Lee in ahead of me?

You knew I had Bela Lugosi in here somewhere, and regular readers are no doubt waiting breathlessly for…

Your favorite and mine. Well, mine, anyways.

I try to get my blog posts up to 200 words.  Well, at least I got close.  Right now I’ve got to rescue Steven from this movie, which he seems not to be enjoying much.  Happy Monday, everyone.

Ooh, 200 words, yes!
