Does Anybunny Still Read My Blog?

So I did my Saturday post Sunday morning and now it is still Monday morning as I attempt to make a Sunday post.  Late morning if you must know (you know who you are).  I hope my readers are still tuned in, and I hope to get into more Mohawk Valley Adventures soon.  I’m afraid I have been hoping that for a long time, but sometimes miracles happen.

Hippity hoppity!

I confess I do not have much to blog about, right now perhaps because yesterday was Easter Sunday.  I drove to Rome, NY to my parents’ house and saw a number of family members.  We had a lovely time.  I took three walks in addition to the short run I took before I left Herkimer.  I’m still fat and out of shape.  Go figure.

Anyways, the cake you see is the bunny cake my mother made.  She has been making bunny cakes for Easter since I was a little girl and she saw how in a magazine.  We do love our bunny cakes.

Luckily not all 40 candles.

This bunny cake doubled as a birthday cake for my nephew-in-law Dan.  I never know when anybody’s birthday is, but my mother happened to mention it to me earlier in the week, so I brought him a Batman duck. He got better presents from closer family, but I thought I would give him a little token.  After all, I rarely give birthday presents at all, and I don’t like to show favoritism.

I am feeling rather tired after my celebrations and numerous walks yesterday, but I do not despair of doing anything blogworthy for Monday’s post.  Will I make it Monday?  Will I make it Tuesday?  Regular readers could probably hazard a guess.

Another Day, Another Walk, Another Post

At the risk of being redundant (oh, who am I kidding? I say the same things over and over again all the time!), I make another Pedestrian Post.  Today’s walk was longer with no libations involved.  I first went to the post office again, this time with business correspondence in hand (what business, you ask? Nun-O-Yo Bidness!) (I’ve never actually said that to anyone, but I have always wanted to).  It was not as warm as yesterday but still perfectly comfortable for walking.

I should do something like this with Frankentree!

On the way to the post office, I paused to snap a picture of an Easter Egg Tree I have been admiring.  Maybe next year I will find enough oomph to decorate for the holidays.

After mailing my letter, I walked a long way home, going past Basloe Library.  When I left the house, I had had some notion of stopping there to work on my murder mystery (preview of coming attractions) but decided I would rather take a longer walk and work on it at home (full disclosure: I still have to do that).  Going through the parking lot, I decided to get a picture of the Do Not Enter sign I mentioned in my last Running Commentary Post (perhaps you read it) (I mean the post, not the sign, although you are welcome to read both).

Once again, I entered.

I walked past my street by two blocks, then up to German Street to get back home.  I was hoping to walk for a half hour, and I did.  For another seasonal picture, I got the cross in front of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Full disclosure: I may not go to church on Easter Sunday.

My walk was over a half hour and over a mile and a half.  I believe I mentioned how I have been seeking the mental health benefits of exercise.  I think this walk helped.  I hope to try another walk or run tomorrow, maybe even both.  But I might look for something else to blog about.  I hope you will stay tuned.

Swell Husband on Easter Sunday

It seems a little disrespectful to have a Wrist to Forehead Sunday on Easter.  For heavens’ sake (so to speak), the man suffered a dreadful death, was dead for three days, then rose from the dead.  All I have to do is write a silly blog post.  When you put it like that, I feel I should just shut up and type.

It has been a very pleasant Easter Sunday for me. The weather was beautiful for most of the day.  I went to church with my parents, then saw other members of my family during the day.  I took two nice walks. I sat outside.  I had a delicious dinner and drank a little wine.  I am home now, bra off, pajama bottoms on (after all, I can’t always wear sweats), thinking about what movie to watch, because my dearest husband said I could pick. Isn’t he swell?

Speaking of swell husbands, let me just tell you a few of the ways mine is.  Last night I picked Steven up at work at 6 p.m. and we drove into Rome.  After some dinner and a visit with my parents, Steven went back home to Herkimer leaving me to spend the night at my parents’.  When I realized two things I had forgotten in Herkimer, Steven told me to write them down so he would not forget them when he returned on Sunday.

Steven worked till 12:30 today, then drove into Rome to join our festivities.  When he got there, he handed me the little cars for Shepherd (our sweet great nephew) and the notebook for my mother (she likes a specific kind for her diaries and it is not readily found), the two things I had forgotten.

“There’s more stuff in the car,” he said.  Now, I had been feeling like the bad daughter I probably am, because I had neglected to get my mother an Easter present.  I had planned to get her something she could add to her garden, perhaps a hyacinth.  Steven had purchased some lovely yellow tulips. Additionally, he had gotten a large polka-dot ball for Sheppie.

Sheppie was quite delighted with the ball.  In fact, we all had a grand time kicking it around.  I think we’re going to have to get another for our house, and perhaps a couple more to play with in my sister Cheryl’s pool this summer.

So that was my unexciting but very enjoyable Easter.  I hope you all had a lovely Sunday as well.
