It’s Silly, But It Is A Post

Well this is a hell of a note, an expression I have not used in quite a while if memory serves. My Chromebook seems to be frozen. My Tablet will not allow me to log in to WordPress (it says “Checking your browser this may take a few seconds, but they have quite the generous definition of”a few “).

So here I am on my phone, where I have made posts but not what I feel are my best work. No matter. A crappy post is better than no post at all.

Not in a row.

I throw in an illustration to pep the post up.  This is merely to show that I do not have my ducks in a row, and one of them is a frog. Just in case anybody was hoping I had gotten my act together as a blogger.

And this is me, looking cute, or do I flatter myself?

I just really like this picture of me on Kentucky Derby Day. I know it is silly, but I embrace my silliness.

I do not know how to check my word count on my phone, so I will hope I have at least 200 words.  I am not used to pecking in my posts one word at a time any more. Still, I made a post, and I believe that is the important thing.

Hope Your Thanksgiving Is Grand

I steal a moment away from family to make a Thanksgiving Day blog post.  It will not be a long post. It may not be a good post.  I am making it from my not so smart phone, not my favorite way of posting. But let us see what I can come up with. Oh swell, it will not let me start a new paragraph.  What’s that all about, WordPress?

I think he is cute.

This is the vegetable board which was my contribution to the Thanksgiving feast.  There were more vegetables in the fridge to replenish the tail as we ate it down.

As you can see, I figured out how to start a new paragraph. At least, I am starting new paragraphs. Quite frankly I do not know what I am doing differently to make it work.

Pretty!

I took this picture on a walk a few of us took.  I have to appreciate any remaining color.  I thought the rain had abated at least somewhat when I suggested the walk.  The precipitation increased after we had gone a couple blocks, so we did not take a long walk.

I do not see how many words I have so far, but I hope it is sufficient. Once again I will try for a better blog post tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

More Fun at Fratello’s

This past Wednesday my husband, Steve, and I experienced a little indecision as to whether or not we would go to Fratello’s Pizzeria in Frankfort as usual. The reason was we had not seen any Facebook posts about any musical entertainment. Of course, the food alone is reason enough to go to Fratello’s, but we are just so into the local music scene these days. Finally Steve called and found out Max Scialdone would be there. Max Scialdone? Yes, please!

He is fine, yes.

When we walked in, a whole group of women was sitting on my preferred side of the bar. When they noticed me looking at them I explained I seemed to be staring because they were sitting where I like to.

“We like sitting over here, too,” Steve reminded me, leading me to the opposite side. Max Scialdone, who was setting up, told us there were seats on the perpendicular side as well; it was just his stuff in the seats.

“We like this side better,” I said, “so our back’s not to the music.”

We split a grilled chicken sub with French fries. Yum!

Another couple sat near us, and we soon got into a nice conversation with them. Their names were Shirley and Russ. Steve asked if we could get a selfie (I guess it’s an ussie in the plural. I was sceptical of my abilities to get a good one, but while we were situating ourselves, our favorite bartender, Toni, volunteered to take the picture.

From left: Russ, Shirley, Steve, and me

They said it was OK to use the picture in my blog post. They asked about the blog, and Russ even had me type the link into his phone. So I might have a new follower!

Good food, good music, good company… it was quite a delightful evening.

We loved grooving to the tunes!
