Past Places, Future Plans

How about another Throwback Thursday Post (even though I am posting large enough that my timestamp probably says Friday)?  Last week was a Theatre Throwback, so let me search my Media Library for something different.

Cool place to eat and shop.

Here is a picture from August of 2019.  Was it really a whole year ago I went to the Main Street Ristorante in Newport, NY?  Time for another trip there, I think.

Regular readers know I love all things cheesy!

Another local business I need to get back to: Original Herkimer Cheese in Ilion, NY,  home of Chudder:  tastes like cheese, spreads like butter!  I Like them on Facebook, so I am always seeing their specials.  They currently offer curbside pick-up, so what’s not to like?

Regular readers also know I love wine.

Here’s another great place I’d love to revisit: Prospect Falls Winery.   I’ll have to check if they’re open for tastings again.  Then again, if they are at least open to sell, I can remember a couple of their wines I really like.  Don’t worry: I’ll imbibe responsibly.

Beer is good too.

Here is a place I went to once and would like to revisit: Ommengang Brewery in Cooperstown, NY.  Steven and I went there once and tasted beer but did not take the tour.

There are all kinds of places I need to go to again.  As they slowly reopen, with proper distancing restrictions,  perhaps I shall.

Scenes from Saturday

Here’s a peaceful view.

I was going to do a Monstrous Monday post but accidentally hit Upload Files instead of Media Library.  So here is a picture I took from the deck at Newport Marketplace on Saturday.

A little too much sun, I’m afraid.

While at the Marketplace,  a gentleman recommended we check out the Newport Town Tavern.  It was right down the road, so why not?

Kim and Steven, enjoying a beverage.

We only stayed for one, but it was a very pleasant stop. Our first stop in Newport had been the Main Street Ristorante and Gift Shop, where we had a nice lunch before browsing the shop.

We had fun here too.

Just to include all of Saturday in this post, I will mention that before we left Herkimer we stopped by Valley Wine and Liquor for a wine tasting.

It was a nice little display.

In addition to wine, Kim and I sampled some hard lemonade.

Kim and the lemonade lady.

I cannot find the notebook where I noted the name of the lady pouring the lemonade.  The lady pouring the wine declined to be photographed.

So this is my post.  A few disjointed sentences about some random photos.  I’m going to call it a Muddled Monday and drive on.  As always, thank you for participating.
