Can You See the Rainbow?

My first intention was to make a Running Commentary post about this morning’s run.  However, those are best done soon after the run, while my in-head narration is still fresh in my mind.  So I thought, I know, Waste Not Want Not Wednesday.  The problem with that is, I only have one photo that might go to waste, and I’m not sure it is all that good a one.

It looked much better at the time.

It is a rainbow I saw as I walked away from the post office last Thursday.  I walk to the post office almost every day, because I am trying to send more letters and post cards to family and friends.  It is my small way of trying to brighten up the world.  With my messy handwriting, it is questionable how much brightness I actually provide, but one does what one can.

Who, me? Like wine?

With not much else to say, I share a picture from November 2019, “All packed and ready for Thanksgiving weekend!”  I am looking forward to Thanksgiving.  Food, family, and fun, yes, please.

I have a few Mohawk Valley Adventures planned in the next week or so, raising my hopes that I can get back to daily blogging.  As always, I hope you will stay tuned.

No Rainbows, No Husband, But It’s Sunday

Here I am making, or at least attempting to make a Wrist to Forehead Sunday post.  Full disclosure:  I have had a few drinks. The first was in the nature of Hair of the Dog, since I indulged yesterday (judge me if you will; I had a murder mystery!).  The following were because the first tasted so good.  Oh dear.  It sounds as if I could use to go to one of the them there 12-step meetings. Never mind.  Tonight I will merely try to get a blog post done.

Oh dear (I say it again), this is terrible. I wanted to download a picture of the murder mystery we presented to benefit the Salisbury Grange yesterday, and I can’t seem to do it.
What’s that all about, Chromebook?  I was hoping to share the pictures as a valid excuse for me to not have a decent post today.  Oh well, my excuses are not always valid at the best of times, so let me get on with the post.

Not today, alas!

Since I could not find what I wanted in my Media Library I at last settled for this shot taken from my porch in September 2022.  I spent some time sitting on m porch today with my friend Kim.  The headache was somewhat in abeyance, and I wanted some companionship.   We got some rain but, alas, no rainbow.  Still, it was nice to sit out on the porch with my friend.

We were having a fine time!

I wanted one more picture to end with and found this one of Steven, my late, dearly missed husband, busting a move at the Mohawk American Legion to the tuns of The Posers, our favorite local band.

I see I am over 250 words.  Score!  I hope you all had a delightful weekend and look forward, as I do, to a lovely upcoming week.

The Blog Post at the End of the Rainbow?

Yesterday (Monday) while at work, I started to compose a blog post in my head.  It started, “In the interests of building a better blog post…”  Well, obviously I did not build a better blog post.  I did not even build a worser blog post or my usual Monstrous Monday post.  I do not have a good reason.  Perhaps my Tired Tuesday started a day early.  Never mind.  Let me see what I can come up with early Tuesday morning, post-coffee but pre-breakfast.

You can just about see the second one.

One thing I do have is a couple of pictures to share.  Shortly after I got home last night, my husband, Steven called from the porch, “Look, a rainbow!”  I had not even realized it was raining.  These days the Mohawk Valley is really embodying the saying, “If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes.”  It was not only raining, the sun was still shining.  Score!  When I saw there was a double rainbow, I got the Tablet and tried to capture the moment.

Darn wires!

I tried to get a good shot of the main rainbow as well.  I need to work on my photography skills.

We have been getting more rainbows lately than I recall seeing in previous years.  Of course I have not made a study of these things.  However, my pictures made something cheery to share.  I can take a break from whining to admire nature’s beauty.  And later today I hope to try once again to build a better blog post.
