At Least I Have My Monsters

So I broke my streak of posting daily by missing both Saturday and Sunday.  I have a couple of Mohawk Valley adventures to blog about, but as often happens on a Monday, I am too tired to do so now.  I may also be too tired on Tired Tuesday.  I have not been sleeping well.  But just listen to me whine.  The fact is, I am disinclined to post even now but feel I must not miss another day.

Sometimes I get carried away, too.

I put in a picture before I got more bogged down in whining about how tired I am.  I figure I can mange a Monstrous Monday post, only hoping I can find pictures I have not shared too recently.  I think the above one qualifies.

Mine is certainly not this big.

Here is one I have shared many times, The Brain from Planet Arous.  It is my favorite picture to share when I am feeling particularly brain dead.

Ah, a cup of tea.

Perhaps I should emulate the Frankenstein monster in the picture and relax with a cup of tea.  I could make it herbal so as not to further disturb my sleep patterns.  Then again, it is a bit warm for hot tea.

I see I am over 200 words, which regular readers now I consider respectable.  As usual, I will try for a better blog post tomorrow, and I hope you will again tune in.

Is My Brain On Planet Arous?

What a comfort Monstrous Monday is.  I don’t have to think very hard.  I just have to share monster pictures and type a few words (once again referring to Truman Capote: “That’s not writing, that’s typing”).

Be still, my heart.

I begin with my favorite,  Nosferatu.  Full disclosure: I rarely watch the 1922 movie, because it is difficult to watch a silent movie and knit or crochet.  I hope I have not lost all horror cred with some of my readers.

Me neither, Dude!

This is what I should have led with!  I think the Monster says it all!

And I thought I had a dirty job!

Here is a nice atmospheric shot.  Check out the ghoul on the right!  Who’s he?

This is what I need!

No, here is the picture I should have led with: The Brain From Planet Arous.  Regular readers know I like to share this guy when I feel I have no brain myself.

So it seems today is long on pictures and short on words.  This is because, as I just mentioned, I am short on brains.  These things happen.  I’ll try for something better on Tired Tuesday.

I Want Monsters for Christmas!

Oh, I am tired!  You can play those miniature violins; I know I am whining with very little excuse for doing so.  What a fat baby!  I am a fat baby, too.  My holiday weight gain is becoming apparent, to me at least.

None of this matters in the least.  I have a blog post to make.  I’m thinking it has been a while since I have indulged in a Monstrous Monday post (as usual I am too lazy to go back and check, but at least we know it has been a week).

Who doesn’t love a Christmas skeleton?

I open with Bonita, our skeleton dressed for the holidays.  Isn’t she pretty?

Green and red ARE the Christmas colors.

I was looking for something else, but Frankenstein’s Monster in a Santa hat caught my eye. So seasonal!

The only Grinch for me!

Also not what I was looking for, but what better Christmas monster than Boris Karloff reading How the Grinch Stole Christmas?

A Halloweeny Christmas decoration or a Christmasy Halloween decoration?

I can’t find the picture I wanted, but there is room for one more Monstrous Monday post before Christmas.   In the meantime,  here is one of our Santa Clauses wearing what used to be my favorite Halloween shirt.  It became too worn out for me to wear, but I think it looks fine on Kris Kringle.  Of course we took it off him after Nov. 1.  That Santa now graces our front porch.

I see I am over 200 words, and I feel too tired to bring this post to a graceful conclusion.  How disgraceful of me. Oh well, tomorrow is another day, when I can make another post.  As always, I hope you’ll stay tuned.
