Can My Monsters Help Me Now?

Oh dear, another late post.  It is early Thursday morning and I am ten-finger typing on the dining-room-table-top, wondering what on earth is wrong with me.  Never mind going down that rabbit hole, let me attempt a fast Mid-Week Monsters Post.

It’s OK, Joan, we’ve all dated creeps on occasion.

This may be a problem.  As I go to my Media Library, the pictures take forever to come up.  I have better luck if I go to a specific month rather than scroll down the whole shebang and in this case randomly picked April 2021.  Not a good choice.  It was Joan Collins in Empire of the Ants or Vincent Price as Egghead on the old Batman TV series, holding an Easter egg.  I picked Joan.  I would love to catch Empire of the Ants again sometime.

I always say Nosferatu is my favorite, but I love them all!

I thought I would have better luck in October and chose 2020.  I was heavy on the pictures that month!  Of course, that was in the midst of the Covid Quarantine, when I had more time for blogging activities.  So most of my pictures are of neighborhood scenery, plus a few selfies of surpassing silliness (just a little alliteration there).

She is happy because somebody sent her flowers.

I close with our skeleton Bonita, wearing a dog’s Halloween mask I picked up at a rummage sale somewhere.  The black tulips were made by a good friend for a murder mystery called Spring Into Murder.  He presented them to me after the performance and I have used them as Halloween decorations ever since.

I see I have somehow managed over 250 words.  Score!  I must try for a better post later.  For one reason, I have some pictures I took that I need to use (I believe I alluded to them on Tuesday’s post).  As always, I hope you’ll stay tuned.

Just Make a Monday Post

I just remembered I used to have a feature called Monday Mental Meanderings. I originally called it Middle-aged Musings Monday. Then there was one post called Moronic Monday, but I never made that a feature. All this by way of introduction on a day when I want to make a post, but I ain’t got nuthin’.

Imagine my delight.

I went for a short run after work, a thing I rarely do on Monday. I thought doing something different might shake things up. I did not run very fast or very far (so it wasn’t real different). After my shortened cool-down walk, I walked into my backyard and discovered we have crocuses! Full disclosure: the above picture is from 2021. This year’s flowers look remarkably similar. I also observed a couple daffodils buds. A little joy to my heart.

Unfortunately, spring will also bring bugs.

Mental meanderings and middle-aged musings aside, I did not want to have a completely monster-less Monday. So here is Joan Collins in Empire of the Ants. I would like to see that flick again.

A couple of times today I saw this Facebook meme to the effect, just do something. For example, if you can’t face the whole sinkful just wash one dish. I took this advice to heart. I could not run two miles, but I managed one. I washed and dried a load of laundry, even though I did not fold it. I could not do a really good blog post, but I managed 250 words. Happy Monday, everyone.

Not Feeling Friday

I am pretty sure I used that headline before, but it fits so well.

That’s the face!

I stole this image from Dracula’s House of Halloween, one of my favorite Facebook pages. Just look at Herman Munster’s face. That is the face of a person who has to work on Saturday. I tell you what: being gainfully employed is not all it’s cracked up to be.

Yes, I am whining in a most unbecoming fashion. After all, I don’t work EVERY Saturday. And they would let me off the hook if I had something important going on, like the Pride Stride 5K in Little Falls, which I recently ran (perhaps you read my blog post about it).

What I am saying is, my life is not that bad. In fact, having to work tomorrow is the least of my worries. Never mind what the most of my worries is; I would have to take the time to rank them and give you a Top 10 list, and nobody wants that.

Somebody tell that ant: When a lady says no, it means no.

See, some people have dates on Friday night, although Joan Collins does not seem to be enjoying hers. Just kidding. This is a shot from Empire of the Ants, which I need to see again. I was scrolling through my Media Library looking for another picture, and this was the only one that caught my eye.

That last bit of silliness got me over 200 words, so score! I say good enough for Lame Post Friday. I may not be feeling Friday, but I have no problem with lame!
