Even Blogging Is Getting Harder!

What a wasted week I am having!  Tuesday I ran two miles, thinking I could make a Two-Mile Tuesday post.  I had pictures on my phone, which I transferred to my Media Library, thinking to do a Waste Not Want Not Wednesday post.  I spent at least some time each of those days staring at the blank Add Post page on my WordPress site.  Alas, to no avail. In fact, I experienced great resistance to logging on today, Thursday.  By the way, I ran three miles, wanting to have another Three-Mile Thursday, like I did last week.

I swear it was steeper when I was on it.

This is one of the hills I ran up on my run this morning.  It doesn’t look very impressive, does it?  I ran up a steeper hill next, which I do not have a picture of.  That hill continued up to Herkimer College, by some dorms in what I call the Kick Butt way to the college, because there are like three steep hills with flat(ish) spaces between.  Ahem, I did not run up to the college.  I made it up one stretch of steep then turned around and ran back down.  Later I ran up a couple more uphills.  I tell you, they do not get any easier.

Random picture, just to show something cheery before I start whining.

I learned to run in the Army, and I loved it, because it seemed that I just magically got better at it.  All I had to do was do it.  It was awesome!  Since the army, I have stopped and re-started running many times, usually because weather or work schedules made it difficult and I am notoriously lazy.  Each time I restarted, I found I was able to build myself back up to where I had left off with little or no problem.  I will admit that at no time have I ever run particularly fast.  Still, I was able to run the Boilermaker 15K several times (not in a row).

Until this year.  I decided early on not to try for the Boilermaker, but I am signed up to run the Pride Stride 5K in Little Falls, NY on June 14.  Why oh why, do my legs feel like overcooked macaroni?

Me before the Pride Stride in 2021.

Don’t mind my Old Age Existential Angst.  I really do not mind being your friendly neighborhood crazy old lady.  I only get a little disconcerted when my body behaves in what I consider a perverse, contrary fashion.  For example, if I am running on a regular basis, I feel I ought to be able TO run on a regular basis, and none of this complaining from my legs and lungs that, “We’re not going to maaaaake it!” (said in a pathetically whiny tone).  Or at least a little less complaining.

In the meantime, I see I have done plenty of complaining in this blog post, and it has run longer than my usual posts.  Considering I missed two days of posting, I think that that is not bad.  Once again, I thank you for tuning in.

Fairly Entertained by Autocorrect

Late posts. It was a thing before and it is a thing now. Here I am Wednesday morning making my Tired Tuesday post. In fact, I am still a little tired from Tuesday, because my coffee is still brewing (just to show how tired I am: I typed “viewing” for “brewing”) (but I think my coffee is done now).

Random picture to denote passage of time while I get coffee.

Ah, coffee.  Even one sip makes me feel better.  I just occurred to me:  I may not have typed “viewing”  I could have mistyped “brewing” and autocorrect “fixed” it for me.  Autocorrect is weird.  Sometimes it changes what I type to what it thinks I mean, and sometimes it just underlines it in red. Right now “mistyped” and “autcorrect” are underlined (“autocorrect” is underlined now four times, once with a capital A) (I add in the interests of accuracy).  Autocorrect is starting to look wrong, but I do not know how else to spell it. “Mistyped” I am comfortable with.

I think the random picture was prescient, because this certainly seems like the wrong way to make a blog post.  But some people might get a chuckle out of it.  As I like to say, it isn’t easy being me, but it is fairly entertaining.

My outsides aren’t doing too well, either.

I add another picture for further entertainment purposes and adjourn for more coffee. Happy Tuesday/Wednesday everyone!

But Not Tired of Blogging

I am tired.  Alas, Tired Sunday is not alliterative like Tired Tuesday, nor does it have a nice ring to it like Wrist to Forehead Sunday (or am I kidding myself about Wrist to Forehead Sunday?).  One might argue that feeling tired may be a reason to swoon, posed dramatically with the back of one wrist to my forehead, but quite frankly, that seems to be too much trouble right now (either swooning or arguing about it).

Random picture to distract from the fact that I am whining yet again.

Oh dear.  This picture just reminded me that Brookwood Market was today.  I was going to go!  I completely forgot about it.

In my defense, I did a few other things today. Most notably, I mowed my lawn, no small chore as regular readers know (I mean, the lawn isn’t all that big, but to me it is a big chore).  I started my power mower by myself!  I felt like much woman, as my sister Vicki would say.  I tried to battle some of the overgrown stuff I couldn’t mow, like the insidious wild grapevine that is taking over the back.

I didn’t get that much done.

This is an older picture, from a more successful lawn session.  Well, perhaps this is why I am so tired today.  Then, too, I think I am still recovering from whatever ailed me last week.  Oh dear, whining again.

Another random picture, for the same reason as the other.

Also under the heading of things done: I grocery shopped.   I made my salad for the week AND put together tomorrow’s lunch, both chores I usually leave for Monday or even Tuesday morning.  I washed some of the dishes (I don’t know why it is so difficult for me to get them all done, but so it is).

And I have made a blog post of over 300 words.  I’d better stop typing before I start whining again.

Whine Today, Wine Tomorrow

I do not know why I am so tired.  I did not go running after work, because I was concerned about air quality issues.  I also did not run errands as I had intended to do nor did I do the laundry and other household chores.  I feel even more tired after listing the things I was supposed to do.

So I am thinking this is not merely a Lame Post Friday post, I am having a Lame Friday!

Have a bloody good day!

I thought I would throw in a picture before I got too bogged down.  A little vampire always brightens my day.

Tomorrow I am getting together with family at a winery for good music and good times.  I have nothing to wear (see previous paragraph about not doing laundry), the wrong gel for my hair, and no gas in my car.  These are problems which can be solved in the morning, I hope.

Perhaps this could form part of tomorrow’s ensemble.

Now I am just looking for random pictures to fill up the post.

Who, me? Drink wine?

Perhaps I am still tired as a result of yesterday’s migraine.  These things can take a toll on a woman my age (by the way, I have been referring to myself as “a woman my age” since my mid-30s).

In the meantime, I have made it to over 200 words with this nonsense.  I hope you are all having a delightful Friday, and thank you for tuning in.
