How Will My Garden Grow?

I thought I would try for an on-time Thursday blog post with another Throwback Thursday.  I am a little afraid I re-use the same throwback pictures again and again.  Of course I am too lazy to go back and check which pictures I may have used recently.  I shall trust to my sometimes reliable memory.

Pretty!

I went back to May of 2017 and found this “before” shot of plants I had purchased for the container garden on my deck.  It has been years since I have had a container garden, but I hope to have one this year.

I always hope they’ll fill in a little as the summer progresses.

Here is one of the pots from that same year.  I always enjoy putting the different flowers together.  I do not always have “the thrill, the fill, and the spill” that the gardening articles advise for an ideal container, but some of my containers are not very big.

At least two of these pots are now in pieces.

I also make use of different levels.  I don’t know what shape those tree sections are in.  They may be rotted by now.

I must get a pedicure soon.

And here is a picture of what I would like to be doing, eventually.  Lounging on my deck, glass of wine nearby, enjoying an evening with my container garden.  So I have pursued two purposes tonight:  I made a Throwback Thursday blog post, and I encouraged myself to get my act together at least to the extent of having another container garden.  May this turn out to be a Preview of Coming Attractions!

Scattered Non-Sequitur Thursday?

Is it Thursday?  I got a few unexpected days off from work so am a little confused (cue unkind remarks about how this is not unusual). No matter.  Since Scattered Thursday is not a thing and Non-Sequitur Thursday is, we’ll go with that.

I went for a run this morning.  Virtual Boilermaker 15K, here I come!  A little later I went to AW Greenhouse and Garden in Little Falls, because I saw on Facebook they were having a sale.  I picked out a hanging plant and a couple four-packs of annuals.  I also grabbed a hunk of Garlic Cheddar Adirondack Cheese.  Yum!

Aren’t they beautiful?

I picked it for the cascading purple,  then noticed the other colors.  Lovely!  I will share pictures of the other plants when I get them, you know, planted.

Later this afternoon I went to the Hot Spot Salon and Spa in Herkimer for a pedicure.  Yes, I am quite incapable of painting my own toenails.  I think we have gone over this before.

I’ll be spending the next few days admiring my toes.

My husband, Steven, and I spent a nice amount of time in our deck.  We admired the weather and my container garden as well as my toenails.  And now I have managed at least 200 words of a blog post.  Phew!  Happy Thursday,  everyone!

Friday the Lame 13th

Hello and welcome to Lame Post Friday.   I am sitting on my deck and hoping that my neighbor finishes mowing his lawn soon.  My lawn could probably use a going over, but that is not on my agenda for this evening.  Anyways, the sound of the mower can count as a Random Observation.  Regular readers know how I like to make random observations on Lame Post Friday.

Oh, how nice.  The first fellow finished, and now a neighbor down the street is working on his lawn!  At least it is further away so not as loud. I suppose I seem rather churlish, complaining about those industriously working while I sit at my leisure.  Well, I can’t help appearances.  Perhaps I am churlish.  I believe I also have some socially redeeming qualities.

There, those last few sentences can count as Half-Baked Philosophy, the other component of a true Friday Lame Post.

I am sorry to keep harping on about my health (or lack thereof) issues, but I am once again not feeling well.  I am hoping it is merely allergies and a decongestant at bedtime will set things right.

In the meantime, I will attempt to pep up this post with a picture or two.  I am enjoying the sight of our Brown-Eyed Susan’s peeping over the edge of the deck.

They want to say hello.

Hmm… It’s a better shot of the deck rail, but perhaps you can get the idea.  Here is a picture of the flowers I took earlier in the season.

We think they are pretty.

I am feeling the distinct urge to finish with a monster photo.  It is Friday the 13th.  I wonder if I can find…

I think this was really a Mother’s Day picture.

This is from the Friday the 13th movies, right? For all my love of horror, I am woefully illiterate about ’70’s slasher flicks. No matter.  I see I am over 300 words.  I think that is fine for Lame Post Friday.  Enjoy the weekend, all!
