I Add to the Media Library

Continuing my trend of posting the next morning for the previous day, I offer a Waste Not Want Not Wednesday blog post early-ish Thursday morning.  I must hurry to make the post, as I am not yet dressed (I am wearing a robe, just to spare anybody an unfortunate mental image) (you know who you are) but must get ready and leave soon to meet my Elks friends for breakfast.  I was delayed by the problem of transferring photos from my phone to WordPress, thinking it was not successful, giving up, then deleting the extras when in fact I had transferred said photos three times.  I add my technological problems, thinking some readers may say, “Thank God, I’m not the only one!” Although I am equally certain others will shake their heads in a superior, self-satisfied manner (0nce again, you know who you are).

This will not be the chef of this morning’s breakfast.

I took a picture of this cute little guy at Yetty’s Pizza and Pasta in Herkimer, NY recently.  Alas, Yetty’s does not serve breakfast.  But I may go there for dinner.

Some people finish books!

I took this picture at a recent Frankfort Town Board meeting.  The board was honoring Vincent Palmieri, who has written two books about the Frankfort he grew up in.  I must find these books and read them.  They sound good.

They were fine, yes!

This is the Jake Lozo band, who I heard at the Ilion Elks Lodge after the DooDah Parade.  They were awesome!  I must go hear them when I will not be so tired and can stay longer.

I see I am over 250 words (thanks to my wordy first paragraph), and I still have time to make myself beautiful (I feel certain I flatter myself there) and meet the gang for breakfast.  As always, I thank you for tuning in.

I Didn’t Wait for Wednesday

Oh dear, I think I have waited too long to make my Monday blog post for WordPress to count this as part of my latest “streak” (and if the term “streak” gave any of you an unfortunate mental image of me running past you naked, serves you right for having that kind of a mind) (you know who you are).  Unfortunately, I do not have much mental wherewithal to make a blog post today.

Why don’t I just go ride a bike?

That was when I remembered I had taken a picture earlier for possible use on Waste Not Want Not Wednesday.  This bike is on the second floor of the Ilion Village Municipal Building, where I went this morning to see the swearing-in of the mayor and two trustees.  I took a few pictures for the Daily Sentinel, you know, my side hustle (OK, it is my only hustle, and I really don’t feel there is much hustle to me these days).

It was my idea for them to pose like this after the swearing in.

Last month I missed most of the meetings I usually cover, because I was lounged on my couch, various parts of my leg taking turns giving me grief.  I’ll say this for my body: it usually tag-teams with the pain.  But enough about me. I do have another picture to share.

A cemetery is always atmospheric, I find.

The one meeting I managed to attend was Frankfort Town Board on June 25.  On the 26th I drove out to a cemetery on the corner of Higby and Graffenburg roads, which was mentioned during the meeting.  I always try to include a picture to go with my stories for the paper.  Also it is fun for me to drive around looking for one.  I pretend I am an intrepid girl reporter from a 1940s horror movie or screwball comedy.

I see I have managed over 300 words.  I say not bad for a Monday.  I must make my way down to a Herkimer Town Board meeting at 6 tonight.  I intend to hobble on my crutches.  I need the exercise, and there are a couple of handy park benches I can rest on if I get tired along the way.

A Pause for a Post!

I pause in my gyrations to make a Lame Post Friday blog post.  I have been running around all day trying to be an Intrepid Girl Reporter (you know, like from a 1940’s Screwball Comedy or Cheesy Horror Movie).  I wrote my article about the Frankfort Town Board meeting.  I drove all around Frankfort looking for something to take a picture of that was talked about in the meeting. Then I had a dedication to go to, which I also had to write a story about.  I found where I had to go. Being me, this was not easy (that is some sort of dangling participle, I think).

I pause in the midst of that rather foolish paragraph to mention that I have one of my light-headed whatever it is I occasionally suffer from.  It does not feel fun.  Quick, throw in a picture to pep things up.

Could Gatorade solve my problems?

I wonder if I could just be dehydrated?  I do sometimes forget to drink water.  In the meantime, my article about the dedication is hanging over my head.  I mean, it is written.  These articles are not especially difficult:  I take notes, I write up my notes.  But I also have to look over them and second-guess myself.  Regular readers know that overthinking is kind of a hobby of mine.  Additionally, I took a picture of all the speakers and I have to remember which name goes with which dignitary.

On the brighter side, I am over 200 words.  A dithery post is better than no post at all, I say.  Back to work with my newspaper duties!  The rest of you can go back to whatever you were doing when you paused to read this!
