Good Wednesday, Bad Post

Today, Igor.

One might feel Wednesday is onerous, because it is only half-way through the week. Or one can go to Fratello’s Pizzeria in Frankfort, listen to a talented local musician, and feel better about the whole thing.

Awesome guy to listen to.

Tonight my husband Steven and I went to Fratello’s Pizzeria in Frankfort and enjoyed food and music. I hope to write a longer post about it later. For right now, I feel tired. I hope this can count for my Wuss-out Wednesday Post.

Boris and Bela Could Not Help Me

Oh, Boris, please don’t rub it in!

That shot is from the movie The Black Cat, starring Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff. I recently saw it, on a DVR’d episode of Svengoolie. I started writing a blog post about it but was unable to complete it.

So here I am, typing (pecking on my Tablet with the stylus, really) during commercials while watching Dateline (she totally did it!). It surely is Tired Tuesday (and I’ll call you Shirley if I feel like it).

One reason I am tired is that I went to the laundromat after work. I inadvisedly decided to bring my laundry home to dry, since my drier survives. It would have been fine if it was one normal load. It was more. My drier has been at it for nearly three hours now. Lugging the wet laundry home and downstairs to the drier was not much fun either.

But just listen to me whine. What a big baby! Never mind. I’m too tired to go back and edit it to sound more cheerful. I’ll just have to look bad. We’ll see what I look like on Wuss-out Wednesday. As always, I hope you’ll stay tuned.

Cheerful Monsters?

I feel I ought not make another whiny Monday post, as some of my Monstrous Monday Posts turn out to be. Yet, I am feeling monstrous. Perhaps I could be monstrous but cheerful.

Looks like a fun bunch to me!

Who could be uncheered by William Castle, Vincent Price, and friends? I could get into watching a Castle/Price collaboration about now. However, I would probably want to go to bed before the end. I am on overtime so get up unreasonably early and get very tired by the end of the day (NOT whining! Merely explaining why I am not watching a movie) (It also explains why this post is turning out to be kind of dumb).

A tense confrontation.

The above is from The Terror, a Roger Corman romp, starring Jack Nicholson and Boris Karloff. I like a Corman/Karloff collaboration, too. Plus, it has the charm of alliteration. Regular readers know I love alliteration.

An even rompier movie.

And here is a Price/Karloff collaboration, with Peter Lorre and Jack Nicholson thrown in for good measure, The Raven. I must get that one on DVD for my collection.

Well, now I am feeling quite cheerful, thinking about these movies I love. Additionally, I am approaching 200 words. Regular readers (I think I still have some) know I call that respectable. At any rate, I made it through another Monstrous Monday. I hope to see you all again on Tired Tuesday, as I fear it will be (not whining now either, just predicting).

Block, Blank, Blob? It’s Tired Tuesday!

Alas, I am having a Tired Tuesday. Many of my days are tired, but today it is at least alliterative. I take my happiness where I find it.

Wow, this is really bad. I just pecked in the above paragraph (one letter at a time with the stylus, feeling happy that I found my stylus again) (speaking of taking my happiness, etc.), then sat here staring at the otherwise blank screen. Earlier today, I opened my notebook (the paper, spiral-bound kind, of course), picked up my pen, and, yes, stared at the blankness.

I’ve said it before: I don’t usually get Writer’s Block, I get Writer’s Blank. I know, I know, the solution is to just write something, anything. Well, that’s what I’m doing, isn’t it? And I gotta say, I am not pleased with what I am writing. Maybe the blank was better (ooh, a little more alliteration!).

How about Writer’s Blob instead?

When in doubt, throw in a picture of a monster and hope for the best. I do feel rather blobbish when I am not writing. It is one of those vicious cycles: I don’t write because I feel blobbish, and I feel blobbish when I do not write. That being the case, I would expect to feel at least marginally less blobbish now.

But blobbish or not, I am over 200 words. I’ll try for a better blog post tomorrow.

Too Tired for Words

So I asked myself, what are you doing, scrolling down Facebook? I couldn’t find an answer, then I remembered I had got on the Tablet to make my blog post. Yes, it is Tired Tuesday.

I have done blog posts before saying I got nuthin’, but this time I really, truly have not a word to say. Fortunately (or unfortunately, if you don’t like this sort of thing), I tend not to let that stop me.

I just spent rather a ridiculous amount of time scrolling through my Media Library looking for a picture to brighten things up. I finally came across this shot from last June, when I purchased a bouquet from Houle Flower Farm in Little Falls, NY. I need to get some more flowers to brighten my life.

Well, so much for my boast of not letting lack of words stop me. I can’t think of another thing to say. But at least I plugged a local business. I can only hope for more words tomorrow.

Me Whine? On Monstrous Monday?

I am going to make a Monstrous Monday Post. For one reason, I recently downloaded a really cool picture.

A f

And I STILL can’t add a caption! Anyways, this is Vincent Price, William Castle, and friends.

The other reason I wanted to do a Monstrous Monday Post is that I am TIRED! I do not want to go on about it, though. It would constitute whining. I hate to be called a whiner. Come to think about it, usually when somebody says I’m whining, I don’t feel I really am. Do others have that experience? I would imagine they do.

But I digress. Perhaps I could find a picture of a whiny monster, just to tie things together.

I don’t know that I would call this whining, but no doubt somebody would. At least we can agree it is a monster (I just KNOW somebody out there is disagreeing) (you know who you are).

If I can find just one more monster picture, I can get to 200 words, hit Publish, and call this a blog post. These are my rules for me. Judge me if you are so inclined.

Waaaait a minute! That’s not a monster, that’s me! I guess I can be monstrous at times. And isn’t it better to wine than whine? Discuss amongst yourselves.

How Useful Must a Blog Post Be?

Oh, I am tired. I know, lots of people are tired. I am sure lots of them have done a lot more than I did today, probably smarter, better, more useful and productive things than me. Where was I going with this? Quick, throw in a picture.

I didn’t have a Monstrous Monday; is it too late for Mid-Week Monsters? I like monsters.

Sometimes I wish I was invisible. Then other times feel like I am. Perhaps some of you have had similar experiences.

I am really feeling sad about not being able to put captions on my pictures. I also feel a little stupid, because I feel sure other bloggers do not have such problems. In any case, this post is not the thrill I was hoping for. I think I will slap on a silly headline, call it Non-Sequitur Thursday, hit Publish, and drive on.

A Blogger’s Work Is Never Done

Regular readers know, or maybe they don’t know but some people know, that I normally go to bed early, even on the weekends. Well I am up late tonight. I know, for many people this is just the beginning of the evening. It used to be so for me, too. Things change.

All this by way of introduction to what may be a rather pathetic Scattered Saturday Post.

I slept in till 5:30 this morning (this is why I go to bed early). I went for a long run up a challenging hill. One week from today is the Pride Stride K, part of the Little Falls Pride event in Little Falls, NY. I think I will be ready.

I multi-tasked by doing a load of laundry while I ran. On returning from my cool-down walk, I managed to mow the lawn (non-power mower, it takes an effort). I returned bottles and cans, which took two tries because the place was so busy. I paid a few bills. I wrote a couple post cards. I did the dishes. I dropped my car off at the shop. I visited my husband Steven at the hospital.

I guess I got a few things done. However, looking around my house, I see I have a long way to go. Oh well, I suppose that is always the case. I have heard that the biggest room in the world is the room for improvement (I read it in a book I got out of the library when I was a little girl; I wish I could remember the name of that book).

Tomorrow will be another chance for improvement. If I manage any, I will be sure to write a blog post about it. That will improve my blog as well. As always, I hope you’ll stay tuned.

Will There Be Monsters?

As I continue to trudge and stumble through my four day week (YES, I am grateful it is a four day week! I can’t help it if I trudge and stumble; I am tired and clumsy! Sheesh!) (And at least I continue to move in what I hope is a forward direction) (But I digress)…

Where was I? Ah yes, Mid-Week Monsters. Or should this be Way-Back Wednesday? In either case I intend to share a few pictures, type in a little nonsense, hit Publish, and hope for the best. It has worked before, I think it will work again. Here goes.

Scary!

I quite frankly do not remember adding this picture to my Media Library, although I obviously did. I also do not remember the movie, yet the title is familiar. I must look through my DVD collections of cheesy movies. There are so many.

Not so scary!

Here is a Way-back Monster photo, although not really so far back. It is my front porch in Halloween of, I think, 2019. I went to the photos on my Tablet, since I am having such trouble with my Media Library these days. They are not dated, and I did not scroll slowly enough to keep track.

Scary again!

Here is an authentic Way-back Monster: Nosferatu from 1922. It is one of the few movies I can reliably remember the year of, because 22 is my favorite number and Nosferatu is my favorite monster.

I think that is a pretty good note to end on. Here’s hoping for a non-monstrous rest of the week!
