Still Sharing Shakespeare?

I am still very tired.  Could I be getting old?  SAY IT AIN’T SO!!!  Is it Post-Play Letdown?   Does it now take me longer to recover from things?  Was it really so taxing to be in a mere play, for heavens’ sakes?  Or is something else at work?

I do not feel like analyzing things and am too tired to do it properly anyways.  I prefer to make a Throwback Thursday Post, even though I will no doubt share pictures I have thrown back to before.  Double throwback?  Maybe even triple or more.  Never mind, just share a picture.

I totally told them.

That’s me in yellow tights, acting up a storm in The Tempest in 2017, the last time LiFT, Little Falls Theatre Company did Shakespeare (before we did Love’s Labour’s Lost  this year, of course).  Oh, you thought All Love’s Labour’s Lost All The Time was over? I guess not.

The whole bunch looks suspicious to me.

Here is a non-Shakespeare but still LiFT throwback, Rubbed Out at Ruby’s, an interactive murder mystery which I just happened to write.  Of course it was the talent and input of the cast that made it so memorable.  Theatre is a collaborative art, after all.

Does this look familiar?

OK, this is only throwing back to last weekend, but Love’s Labour’s Lost is still on my mind.

Thank you once again for tuning in.  As always, I will try for a better blog post tomorrow, but no promises.  After all, it will be Lame Post Friday.

Thursday? Friday? Hey, It’s a Post

I have been so good about making my blog post on the day indicated.  I have at worst resorted to a Post-Rehearsal Post.  But here I sit Thursday evening, wondering exactly how bad it would be to make my Non-Sequitur Thursday post on Friday  morning.  Oh, I understand it would be bad.  But would it be terrible? Would it be catastrophic?

Obviously it would not.  I have done it many times.  But it is not my favorite thing to do. I can only say it is better than not posting at all.  Which I have done.

Where was I?  Ah yes,  trying to make at least a Non-Sequitur Thursday Post.

Regal, yes?

I quickly throw in a picture from 2017, to make for a Throwback Thursday Post.  Oh yeah, it is also All Love’s Labour’s Lost All The Time,  because this is a shot from a previous offering from LiFT, Little Falls Theatre Company. The actor is in this year’s offering, but he does not wear this costume.

Now it is Friday morning and I am sipping coffee and trying to finish this post despite the headache that came to me during the night.  Yes, I just had to throw in that little whine.  Judge me if you are so inclined.

However, that useless little paragraph got me over 200 words.  I say that is OK for a Non-Sequitur Thursday Post.  I’ll just throw in one more picture of Love’s Labour’s Lost, because, you know, All The Time.

Similar to the last one I shared, but a little different.

Once again, Love’s Labour’s Lost by William Shakespeare will be presented by LiFT, Little Falls Theatre Company Saturday and Sunday August 13 and 14 at 1 p.m.  at Benton’s Landing in Little Falls, NY, part of Little Falls Canal Celebration. Admission is free.

How About a Thursday Theatre Post?

OK, so my Thursday post is late too. Judge me if you are so inclined. I had rehearsal last night and, oh, other things. As I said yesterday (and other times), explanations are tiresome. Speaking of yesterday, for anybody who read that post (Wednesday’s, again, judge me if you must) and was wondering: I looked for those flowers on this morning’s walk. The flowers are still there, only of course I could not appreciate the purple color in the dark.

Never mind all that, on with my Throwback Thursday Post, with a little bit of Non-Sequitur Thursday thrown in, because, I like non-sequiturs. Some may point out that many of my so-called non-sequiturs are not truly so, but I have no inclination of semantic arguments this morning.

A wide view.

This is from the 2017 production of The Tempest by William Shakespeare, presented by LiFT, Little Falls Theatre Company. The setting is Benton’s Landing, near the canal in Little Falls, NY. That will be the setting for Love’s Labour’s Lost, our current production, and it is where we were rehearsing last night.

A noble stance.

This gentleman was the King in The Tempest. I believe he plans more comic garb for his part in Love’s Labour’s Lost.

World’s most interesting Shakespeare guy?

The is one of my favorite pictures. The actor has longer hair now, but I think he is hoping to wear the same pants.

They were a fun pair, although they wanted to kill me. Long story.

Only the actor on the right is joining us for Love’s Labour’ Lost, and I believe she will be dressed quite differently.

I guess my Throwback Thursday turned into more of a Preview of Coming Attractions with very little of the Non-Sequitur about it. You’ll have that, especially in my blog. However I have reached 300 words, and I rather enjoyed this post. Let’s see if I can be on time for Lame Post Friday. As always, no promises, and thank you for tuning in.

Where’s My Brain When I Need It?

My Tablet seems to be working as slowly as my brain, which does not bode well for today’s blog post. Never mind, I’ll just bill it as a Non-Sequitur Thursday and hope for the best. I also hope my Media Library will cooperate to the extent of sharing a photo or two.

A similar view to one I have enjoyed recently.

I scrolled down looking for something that could be construed as a Throwback Thursday and found this. I have neither worn those sneakers nor drunk beer in a while. Perhaps I will remedy that omission on Fourth of July weekend. I do like to drink Sam Adams beer for the holiday.

I think he looks suspicious.

Veering off in another direction (I did say this was Non-Sequitur Thursday), here is a shot from Secrets at Suiter House, one of the murder mysteries we put on to benefit the Herkimer County Historical Society. That was one of my favorite scripts. My husband, Steve especially liked it, because he got to be the dead body.

My hair is longer now.

OK, back to booze. When I said earlier I had not drunk beer in a while, I meant just that: beer. I have had wine. The above picture is from 2020 (note the mask), but I have enjoyed a glass or two since then.

I see I am over 200 words. Score! If only I could think of a punchy title, my life would be perfect.

Theatre Is My Life!

I believe I have time for a quick Throwback Thursday post before I have to leave for rehearsal. My problem is, since I am about to go to rehearsal, I feel distinctly inclined to throw back to past LiFT (Little Falls Theatre Company) productions. I also feel it is too early for this blog to become All Love’s Labour’s Lost All The Time. I’m just so excited to be doing a Shakespeare play again!

Full disclosure: I may not have time to do a blog post. I keep getting distracted by the Mom re-run on TV. I’m so shallow!

No, it’s not the balcony scene from Hamlet!

At least this is not a picture I shared on the last Throwback Thursday Post. It is a rehearsal shot from The Tempest in 2017.

Another Full Disclosure: My laptop (dining-room-tabletop) is acting up. This post may be short. I am quite certain a short post is better than no post at all. For one reason, my reader has less time to get bored.

And this is a whole different show!

The above is from a Cheese Play by Angela Harris. Regular readers know how I love all things cheesy. Ahem, these plays are not cheesy in the same sense as the cheesy horror movies I so adore.

And here’s something weird. I am over 200 words. Good thing, because this computer is driving me batty! Thank you for tuning in, and I hope to see you all on Lame Post Friday.

It LiFTs My Spirits

Rehearsals begin tonight for Love’s Labour’s Lost by William Shakespeare, presented by Lift, Little Falls, NY Theatre Company. Full Disclosure: I am not at rehearsal. I’m not in that scene. But I am very excited for rehearsals to start. I have been studying my lines.

In light of this, I would like to throw back to past LiFT productions for my Throwback Thursday Post.

You tell her, Prospera!

Here is a dramatic scene from a performance of The Tempest in 2017 (why does autocorrect always delete the first digit of any number over 10?).

And here are a few posed shots.

A less dramatic moment.

The above picture was some LiFTers in January 2020, trying to make a plan to bring Shakespeare back to Little Falls that summer. We all know how that year worked out.

I thought I had some other pictures but as usual am having trouble navigating my Media Library. It will soon be time for me to start sharing new pictures. In the meantime, I hope this will do. Once again, thank you for tuning in.

Remember When I Used to Plug Local Businesses?

As the oomph to blog daily continues to elude me, I interrupt my non-blogging days for what I hope will be a decent Throwback Thursday Post. I only hope my Tablet and Media Library will cooperate.

Sing it, Phil!

This is throwing back only to last December, and to a time when I was making more posts about authentic Mohawk Valley Adventures. It is, in case you did not recognize it, local musician Phil Arcuri rocking out at Fratello’s Pizzeria in Frankfort, NY. We do still occasionally indulge in our Wednesday Night Thing.

So pretty!

This picture was taken a little longer ago, but Houle Flower Farm in Little Falls, NY may be looking similar these days. I must take a drive out and check.

Good dawg!

Ooh, here’s another local business I might like to go to again, the Saalty Dawg Saloon in Ilion, NY.

Will I go to these places again soon? More importantly, will I begin blogging about them on a daily basis? Will I figure out the WordPress upgrade and finally start posting new pictures again? For the answers to these and other questions of varying interest and importance, stay tuned to Mohawk Valley Girl. That’s me still, I hope.

Thank You, Media Library

I shall try for another Throwback Thursday Post, hoping for some cooperation from my Media Library.

A note of hope!

Here is a cheerful picture: a crocus in my yard in 2018. I had a few crocuses in my backyard, before the Monday/Tuesday nor’easter hit. Tuesday afternoon, after I took my walk, I spied a lone purple crocus in my front yard, defying the snow. I took a picture with my phone, which, alas, I am unable to share at the current time.

Scary tree?

Another view from 2018: Frankentree in our front yard. He is even bigger and more monstrous now, but there is considerably less snow.

Now this is a scary tree!

This is the tree which dropped a major portion of itself on the power line, causing the outage which enlivened (or made hideous) our Tuesday/Wednesday. Thanks a lot, tree! I always liked you!

These will cheer me up!

I usually content myself with three pictures, but I wanted to end with flowers. The daisies will not arrive for a while yet, but I hope they grow in a similar profusion when they do.

I guess some would say 2018 is not throwing back very far. Then again, sometimes last week seems a very long time ago and second grade feels like yesterday. What’s that all about? A question, perhaps, for Lame Post Friday. As always, I hope you’ll stay tuned.

Late Theatre Throwback Post

So after skipping Tuesday entirely and making Wednesday’s post early Thursday (why didn’t I bill that as a Wuss-out Wednesday? Missed a bet), I took a Blogger’s Sick Day, and unfortunately I mean a literal sick day by not posting at all. It was also a half sick day at work, as I left after four hours and went home to bed. On previous Blogger’s Sick Days I have managed to post a small, whiny thing explaining why I was not making a post. I am becoming a very bad blogger.

It is now early Friday morning. I believe I am well enough to make it through the day at work. As I wait for the cable to re-boot (cable’s sick day?), I thought I would try a Throwback Thursday Post. I only hope my Media Library will not be as recalcitrant as it usually is.

“To be or not….” Oops, wrong play.

This was when LiFT, Little Falls Theatre Company did The Tempest in 2017. I almost wept with happiness when I saw that summer Shakespeare is returning this year (preview of coming attractions).

Here are a few more Tempest characters. I guess I don’t have a whole lot more to say. But when LiFT gets going again, I hope for many good posts. Maybe I can have a new feature: Theatrical Thursday. As always, I hope you’ll stay tuned.

I Would Feel Spunky If I Could Do Shakespeare Again

Last night, I told myself all I needed to do was make a Throwback Thursday Post. How hard could that be, I argued. Choose a couple of pictures, peck in a few words… that is, on my Tablet. Then I thought about how finicky my Tablet has been concerning my WordPress Media Library, and I was so tired anyways… So here I am, prior to five Friday morning, on my still-hanging-by-a-thread laptop, ten-finger typing, and waiting for coffee.

I must admit, I am enjoying the ten finger typing, and the coffee just showed up (Steve really is a very satisfactory husband). Let us see what I can do with the Media Library.

Adorable, yes?

I looked at March 2017 (the laptop behaving beautifully for the moment) and found this sweet picture of our dearly missed pooch, Spunky. I SO miss having a dog! My ambition is to get my house cleaned up and repaired so we can adopt another doggy friend. It is difficult as tired as I am these days, but I encourage myself to work a little at a time.

I MISS this!

I was looking for another canine photograph, but I can rarely resist a Theatre Throwback. This was an early rehearsal for The Tempest, as presented by LiFT, Little Falls Theatre Company in 2017. Too long ago! A few of us were meeting in early 2020, scheming how to bring Shakespeare back to Little Falls, but, alas, COVID intervened.

There’s no people like show people!

Here is a picture of one of our meetings, held at Meeples Mug House, which is also sadly departed (totally understood the proprietors’ reasons, but still sad).

Well, that was pretty easy, getting over 250 words (I may be over 300 by the end of this paragraph!). My headline suggested itself after I found the second picture. Does jumping subjects like this make this also a Non-Sequitur Thursday post? Discuss amongst yourselves.

(Yes, over 300 words. Teehee)
