It Isn’t Really So Early, Is It?

I am making a Wrist to Forehead Sunday post at eight o’clock on a Sunday morning.  Too early to swoon, you say?  Nonsense!  The early bird get the worm, or the chaise lounge, as the case may be.  I once said, “The early bird gets the worm, but the late bird gets spaghetti,” with a waggish intonation.  I forgot I said it and when reminded, I said, “I said that?  I’m witty,” arguably a more quotable line, unless you are inordinately fond of spaghetti, which I am.

When I first started typing the preceding paragraph, a little bubble appeared on my Chromebook reading, “help me write.”  I was highly offended. Help me write?  I need no help to write!  I am an excellent writer! And I do not care if I flatter myself.

Mmmm… wine…

I threw in a picture, to distract from the fact that I was flattering myself.  This is Montezuma Winery’s tasting room in Old Forge, NY, which I visited with my sister Cheryl last fall.  I was mentioning their tasting room in Cooperstown just yesterday.  I like to visit tasting rooms.

My situation this morning, by the way, is that I must take my shower and pack, because I am going to Rome to spend Mother’s Day with my lovely mother and equally wonderful father.  I intend to spend the night.  I do not know why I become so flustered over what should in fact be a fairly routine matter, but so it is.  However, I have managed a blog post of over 200 words, so my daily blogging habit continues.  Once again, I thank you all for tuning in.

Late Monsters, But It’s a Post

It looks like I am entering another time of late posts and not very exciting posts.  I’ll be honest: my depression is getting me down.  BUT… there are things I can and will do about it.  I will get exercise every day and strive to NOT sit on the couch and do nothing (a favored activity for many depressed individuals).  I took a nice run yesterday so could have made a Running Commentary post, but for some reason did not.

Here’s a cheerful fellow.

I was looking for a picture to pep things up and found Nosferatu, from the eponymous 1922 silent movie.  Regular readers know he is one of my favorites.   I do enjoy a Monstrous Monday post, even when I wait till Tuesday to make it.

Looking ahead into the day and the week, I see a few opportunities for Mohawk Valley Adventures.  The basket I won at the HALO Lucky Paws Auction was from Phoebe’s Florist in Mohawk, NY.  I would like to go there, spend a little money, and make a blog post about it.  Maybe I could buy myself some flowers.  Maybe I can clean up my house a little, so I will be able to see the flowers.

Preview of Coming Attractions?

I may also try to make a Running Commentary post, if any of my runs seem memorable.  The above picture is from October 2020, when I was doing a challenge of exercising for at least 34 minutes for 34 days to call attention to 34 million people with diabetes in the U.S.  The challenge wanted you to post a selfie each day.  I did a few with my monster friends.  Maybe I should do another challenge like that.  Any thoughts?

In any case, I have made another placeholder blog post.  As always, I thank you for tuning in.

Wrist to Forehead Sunday Morning

It is early Sunday morning, and this title occurred to me.  Regular readers may have noticed that I have not posted in a few days, and I feel bad about that.  My mother suggested that it might be easier to make fewer posts, pointing to a friend of hers that posts once a week.  I know this is true; many bloggers post once a week or a few times a week.  The point is, they post regularly.  For me, I like to post every day.

Random picture to denote passage of time while I make my tea.

I guess it isn’t really a random picture, since I spent some time scrolling down my Media Library before I picked one.  As a note of interest, I seem to be on my last teabag of black tea.  I have green, white and herbal, plus plenty of coffee, so this is not the disaster it may have been.

Wrong Way might as well be my middle name.

I was actually looking for the meme that said, “First drafts don’t have to be perfect; they just have to be written,” or words to that effect (there probably isn’t a semicolon; I have kind of a passion for semicolons).  However, I realized I would have to do quite a bit of scrolling to find it, and I think this one is almost as good.  The fact is, I feel I am going the wrong way about being a daily blogger.

The right way?  I suppose I must figure that out, hence I swoon, dramatically posed with the back of one wrist to my forehead.  Will I find the right way?  Will I write other things?  The suspense will add interest to my Sunday.  In any case, I see I approach 300 words, which is not bad for a mere placeholder post.  Maybe I can manage a real post later.  I have all day and a whole cup of black tea to help me.
