What, Me Worry?

It is Sunday evening and I have very little to say.  I guess it is another Wrist to Forehead Sunday, because I would like nothing better than to swoon upon a chaise lounge, dramatically posed with the back of one wrist to my forehead.  Only, as regular readers know,  I have no chaise lounge.

I know the feeling.

It has not been a bad weekend.  For that matter, I do not expect the upcoming week to be that bad.  Of course, that could mean trouble.  Every time I worry about something bad that might happen, it usually does not.  Most of the bad stuff that happens in my life is stuff I never saw coming.  Clearly if I could only worry about every potential bad thing, nothing bad would ever happen.

That sounds like some half-baked philosophy more suited to Lame Post Friday than Wrist to Forehead Sunday.  Oh well, I can only write what I can write.

Obviously not my brain.

I thought another picture might be a good idea and found one from The Brain from the Planet Arous in my Media Library.  Regular readers know I like to share this picture when I am feeling particularly brain dead.

Brain dead or not, I have achieved 200 words.  Score!  Once again, I will try for a better blog post tomorrow.

Monster Movies, As I Swoon on Sunday

It is assuredly Wrist to Forehead Sunday, as anybody who read my late Saturday blog post will readily understand.  I have not been behaving myself as befits a woman of my age.  I do not mean with dignity and decorum; those are obviously past hoping for.  I mean with a basic respect for my declining physical capacities.  Come to think about it, my physical capacities have never been all that impressive.  Still, one does what one can.

Only I don’t have the Blu-Ray.

I throw in a picture to pep things up, before I get too bogged down in my petty physical complaints.  I did not get to the movie watching portion of my Sunday till later in the afternoon.  It coincided with the dinner fixing portion of the day, but I am not sure what I fixed was worthy of a cooking post.

One of the classics.

I actually do not think this shot is from the James Whale directed Frankenstein,  which I watched next.  However, it is too much trouble to keep searching my Media Library for a picture.  My readers know who I mean, I am sure.

So pretty!

This, of course, is Elsa Lanchester in The Bride of Frankenstein, which I am watching now.  I am pleased that all three DVDs I have watched started right up, because I don’t see any of my remotes.  No doubt they are not far, but I am grateful for any little advantage on Wrist to Forehead Sunday.

My only problem now is, will I dare make a Monstrous Monday Post tomorrow?  I shan’t worry about it now.  I hope you are all having a delightful Sunday evening.

Is It Really Wednesday?

OK, all I really have right now is that title.  I guess that makes this either a Wordless or a Wuss-out Wednesday when what I really feel like making is a Mid-week Monsters Post.

Of course, she does have a pretty face.

This is the movie I wanted to watch on Severed Head Sunday.  Unfortunately, I only have it on a DVD collection, not a DVD all by itself.  And with my current DVD situation, I can only put the disc in and hit Play; I can’t arrow over or down to play the second movie on the disc.  No Special Features either, although I rarely got into watching those.  Not that I mean to harp on my first world problems.

“First world problems are still problems!”

Here is my skeleton Bonita having a Wrist to Forehead moment.  I have been feeling a little apt to swoon these days, in my more dramatic moments (of course I have many dramatic moments; I am a theatre person, after all). I guess I don’t have a theme for today’s post.  It is being made out of a desire to post every day, and not to make this post late.

Is that Pinot Noir?

Sometimes the best thing to do is just pour yourself a glass of wine and hope for a better post tomorrow.  I purchased that glass at Pumpkin Junction in Sauquoit, NY, just to mention a local business.  I stupidly broke it last Halloween. Perhaps I can get another one this fall.

In the meantime,  I am over 250 words.  Not bad for a silly post.  I am going to take my own advice: sip a little wine and hope for a better post tomorrow.  As always I hope you’ll stay tuned.

Wrist to Forehead Monstrous Monday?

My plans for a better blog post will not come to fruition tonight. Instead I am going to make another Monstrous Monday Post and go to sleep. I hope. Hope to sleep, that is. Insomnia is ever my nighttime companion, but never mind that now. Let me try to fine some monster pictures I have not shared recently.

She is traumatized that I cannot make a decent blog post.

Here is Bonita, more naked than usual but sporting some elegant accessories. She is striking a wrist to forehead pose. This is how I swoon when I am feeling particularly dramatic, although I believe the proper way to do it is on a chaise lounge.

He looks pretty cheerful for not being a morning person.

Here is another monster from our personal collection. I have been using that mug a lot lately but have not seen the vampire. We did not bring all our Halloween decorations down from the attic.

I fear this will be a short post as my tiredness threatens to overcome me. Yes, I will soon be making a dramatic pose like Bonita’s. Anyways, happy Monday, all.

By the Way, It’s Raining Again

Oh dear, I have the Type It In Backspace It Out Disease.  However, I want to make a blog post, so let us see what I can come up with.

I loves me some dark clouds, yes!

I took this picture of the sky outside my house while waiting for my friend, Kim, to pick me up.  We have had an off and on rainy day.  I felt a few sprinkles when running this morning and heard a downpour earlier this afternoon.  I got the front lawn mowed before the downpour, so that was one thing in my favor.

Not quite pumpkin time yet, but…

Kim and I had a nice lunch at Salvatore’s in Herkimer, NY.  This is a picture from October 2019.  They do not have the fall decor yet, but I hope to see it soon!

A more recent picture.

This is not a picture from today, nor yet a picture from Salvatore’s.  But it is my friend, Kim, having a glass of wine, so I feel it is apropos.

Also not a recent shot.

I went through my Media Library looking for another picture to share and found another shot of storm clouds moving in.  I do so love a thunder storm!  Perhaps we will get one tonight, and I will have a chance to watch a scary movie!

In the meantime,  I am over 200 words.  Phew!  I’ll see what I can come up with tomorrow, on Wrist to Forehead Sunday.  Or will I have a Severed Head Sunday?  A little suspense adds interest to my evening.

Salsa and Snapped on Wrist to Forehead Sunday

And so it is time for my Wrist to Forehand Sunday post.  For anyone just tuning in, this is the day I swoon, dramatically posed with the back of one wrist to my forehead, because it is all Just Too Much for me.  My only regret is that I do not have a chaise lounge to swoon upon.

Full disclosure:  I have never actually swooned in my life, and things have so far never been Just Too Much for me.  OK, sometimes I have felt they were, but yet, here we are.  So anyways, let’s get on with the blog post.

A great place for produce!

One of the few useful things I did today was to drive to Little Falls to AW Greenhouse Gardens for a red onion.  I wanted it to make some salsa with the rest of the Roma tomatoes I got there last week.  I also impulse bought some blackberries.  It is the end of their season.

I did make the salsa, adding to the day’s usefulness.  Earlier I had gone running and done a few more household chores, so one could argue that I am not so useless after all.  However, I am no hand at argument.

One could argue that this is a creepy image.

Under the heading The Devil Made Me Do It, I was scrolling through my Media Library looking for a Snapped logo and came across this picture of Nosferatu that I really wanted to share.  Does it fit with today’s post?  Discuss amongst yourselves.

Here is a Snapped logo!

We have been watching Snapped for most of the day.  I just can’t get enough of True Crime.

At least he is wearing the same shirt today.

I wanted to end on a picture featuring a glass of wine, because I have been enjoying a sip or two today.  This is my husband Steven at the Waterfront Grille in Herkimer, NY.  It may even have been a Sunday.

No matter.  Today is Sunday.  Let us all relax.  I may even have another glass of wine.

Making Do on Wrist to Forehead Sunday

It is Wrist to Forehead Sunday,  and one reason for that is that I am posting on my Tablet.  Not only am I sitting here typing one letter at a time with the stylus, I am limited to pictures I have in my Media Library or ones I have taken with the Tablet.  I have had a Cinema Sunday but I do not have sufficient pictures for a blog post of same.

This is what we mean by Wrist to Forehead.

It’s funny how I can have a perfectly enjoyable day yet have nothing to write a blog post about.  I mean, who wants to hear about my doing laundry and grocery shopping?   Oh, well, I guess sometimes I can think is something to say about mundane chores.

I know how he feels.

I often say there are worse things than being bored.  However, I am talking about my job, not my blog.  I do not see any problem with being bored while I am doing my job, as long as I am doing it right.  But it would be very bad of me to bore my blog readers.  That is not the point is writing a blog, I assure you.

“You boring? Say it ain’t so! “

Oh, look I do have an appropriate picture, because right now we are watching The Wolf Man on a DVR’d Svengoolie.  I loves me some Svengoolie.

He looks mean.

And for good measure, here is Bela Lugosi as Bela the Fortune-teller in The Wolf Man.  Who coukd be uncheered by Bela Lugosi?

Wrist to Forehead Sick Day

I am sorry if it is tiresome to hear a grown blogger continue to moan and groan about a sinus condition.  Here I am, moaning and groaning away.  And just barely trying to make a blog post.  This will never do.  Maybe I can pep up the post and myself with a few pictures.

“Oh woe is me!”

Here is our skeleton Bonita, in a true wrist to forehead pose.  I don’t know what a skeleton has to get so dramatic about, but then, she may have all sorts of worries to which I am not privy.  I try to give my toys their privacy.

“Oh shame! Oh degradation!”

And here I am, with my wrist to my forehead in a wonderfully dramatic moment from Dirty Work at the Crossroads, an 1890’s melodrama my talented husband Steven directed at Ilion Little Theatre.  Goodness, was it almost seven years ago?  How the time flies.

Threaten me with an axe, will ya?

I was looking for Joan Crawford with an axe, because I have a splitting headache, but I came across this axe pic first (see what I did there?  axe pic, like pick axe?  well, I thought it was funny). This is me and a few others in Roxy, a play about a local historical murder.  For those of you who don’t know, that is my husband (in the play, obviously it’s not Steven) threatening me with the axe, but he is the one that ends up getting chopped.  Good memories.

I will be happy when this sinus infection is just a distant memory.  In the meantime,  I’ll try to make a better blog post tomorrow.

But I’m Missing Svengoolie!

I pause in my meager activities for a Wrist to Forehead Sunday post.  Of course I rarely get much useful done on a Sunday, but some weeks I feel worse about it than others.  Today I am mostly concerned that I not be making my Sunday post at 4 a.m. Monday.  It looks as if I will at least meet that goal.  As long as I am not too fussy about what sort of post I make.

I went for a pretty good run this morning.  After that, I did not feel like doing much, but after a shower, breakfast, and lounging on the couch and reading a book, I managed to accompany Steven to the grocery store.  We neglected to bring the list so forgot to purchase garlic powder.  These things happen.

I made a pot of chicken soup, using fresh garlic and two yellow onions.  It was yummy!  I still have to put the leftovers away, so the useful portion of my day is not over yet. My only other useful task of the day was a load of laundry.  Now I have clean pants and handkerchiefs for work, at least for the next couple of days.

Earlier we thought to clear our DVR by watching a previously taped movie.  This is a handy way to feel we are accomplishing something when in fact we are just watching television.  Hey, I will take fake usefulness on a Wrist to Forehead Sunday!  However, the movie was Fearless Vampire Slayers, and we neither paid much attention nor watched the whole thing. However, we did delete it so cleared our DVR of two hours’ worth of space.

Now we are watching a DVR’d Svengoolie.  The movie is The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, a movie I saw previously without a character host.  I wrote about it in a blog post titled Sorry, Cecil and Rays.

Now I see I am over 300 words.  Let’s get that leftover soup in the fridge and get back to enjoying Svengoolie!
