Wuss-Out, Way-Back, Mid-Week, Whatever!

Wuss-out Wednesday follows Tired Tuesday and that is just the way it goes some weeks. I managed to get a very few things done today, but I am not up to great feats of Mohawk Valley Adventures nor blogging about them. The best I can hope for is a Mid-Week Monsters Post. Maybe a Wayback Wednesday or Preview of Coming Attractions. Let us see what catches my attention in my Media Library.

How about monsters and a preview? I do not remember where I came by the dinosaur (which could be construed as a monster), but the animals came from Rose Quartz Stand, one of my favorite stops when I am on Mohawk Street in Herkimer, NY. I have a nice collection of those little animals. They are so small, it is no problem to add to the collection. Also, I like to give them to people.

Apparently the skeletons did not read the sign.

Here is a place I would like to go again, leg and back permitting: Gold Rush Adventure Golf in Westmoreland. I’m sure many of the displays have been changed and/or added to, because it has been a few years since I was there.

Nothing monstrous about this!

Now here is something I have not done in a while: gone garage saling. Of course, I am supposed to be getting rid of stuff in my house. Still, I might find some good stuff that wouldn’t take up too much room, mightn’t I? I think Herkimer Village-Wide Garage Sales are coming up. Once again, I will not have my act together to participate. Never mind. At least I made a blog post. Happy Wednesday, everybody.

Garage Sales on My Mind

When I took my walk this morning, I brought my phone and took pictures, thinking to do an illustrated Pedestrian Post. In the course of a 40 minute walk, I took nine pictures. That is too many for one post, so I will split things up.

Today was Herkimer’s Village-Wide Garage Sales. I have been seeing signs like this all over for the past few days.

Intriguing, yes?

I took my walk around six, well before garage sale time, even for early birds (and most of the garage sale ads I’ve ever seen say, “No early birds!” anyways). But I did see a couple of yards already prepared. I was certainly curious as to what the tarps were hiding.

As I walked, a runner who often exchanges greetings with me came up behind me.

“Good morning!” I said.

“It looks like everybody is getting ready for garage sales!” she said.

“I know, I’m making notes of where to go later!” Full disclosure: I did not go to any garage sales. I have too much stuff in my house as it is. I ought to have a garage sale myself, only I am far too unorganized.

I did not try to buy it.

The little paper says, “For Sale.” I took the picture, because the camper brought back memories of the pop-up camper we used to have when I was a kid. We had some good trips, and my sisters and I had some fun nights in our back yard in that camper.

Thoughts of garage sales and camping added a little interest to my walk. I hope to take another walk tomorrow.

Feeling Sapped on Saturday

It was another Saturday without much scatter to it. In my defense, I ran for over an hour (63 minutes, to be exact), and that really takes it out of me. I spent the rest of the day wanting to take a nap. Of course when I finally laid down and tried to take one, I had no luck at all. These things happen to insomniacs like me.

My friend Kim and I went to a neighbor’s garage sale and got a few good buys. The neighbor missed the Village Wide Sales, because he had to work, but he seemed to be getting a good number of shoppers.

After shopping, Kim and I hung out with Steven on the deck, his favorite spot to be these days. We had some good laughs, as we usually do. After Kim left, Steven and I went inside and watched Creepshow, one of the DVDs I had just purchased. I have to say we were a little disappointed. When we watch it again, I may fast forward through the boring parts.

So this is turning out to be a dull blog post. Could the hot weather be sapping me of all entertainment value? SAY IT AIN’T SO!!! In any case, I see I am over 200 words. I’ll try to be more entertaining on Wrist to Forehead Sunday.

Scattered Movies After Garage Sales

Yeah, those eyes don’t look crazy!

I pause in my Saturday movie viewing to make a blog post. I had thought to make a Scattered Saturday Post but did not take any pictures. My friend Kim and I visited a some participants of Herkimer Village Wide Garage Sales. It was too hot to thoroughly enjoy the exercise, although we did make a few fun purchases. After that, we had lunch at Salvatore’s Pizzeria in Herkimer. Ah, the air conditioning!

I returned home to find my husband, Steven, watching Remember the Titans, a very uplifting movie. Alas, I cannot find any pictures to share. As I often say, I am not adept at these things. We went on to a more guilty pleasure with Malice.

Oh dear, I should have included a spoiler alert!

Ah, I managed to add a photo from Malice. We are currently watching The Bad Seed, as you may conclude from the first image in this post. I guess there is not a theme to our movies this evening, nor even a connection from movie to movie. However, I can content myself with the reflection that we agreed on each selection.

We have not discussed which movie to watch next, but I make bold to share images from House on Haunted Hill, one of our all time favorites. I can’t say we will watch it, but we might.
