Throwback? Non-Sequitur? It’s a Mystery!

Wordless Wednesday turned out pretty good (or do I flatter myself?), so I thought I would go for a Throwback Thursday Post. I’ve had those before. If I throw back to something I have thrown before, sorry.

A couple of suspicious individuals.

Here is an appropriate memory: a murder mystery dinner theatre which benefited the Herkimer County Historical Society. It was titled Secrets at Suiter House. It is appropriate, because I am currently writing and recruiting actors for another murder mystery, as yet untitled.

This is not how this looks today, but tomorrow…?

I am having a great deal of trouble navigating my Media Library, as indeed I did yesterday. As a matter of fact, yesterday I sought but did not find a picture of snow. Now I was looking for another murder mystery picture and found snow. No matter. I can just bill this as a Non-Sequitur Thursday Post.

I hate to play the illness card again, but can I just say I am still not feeling the least bit well. What the hell, body? I have things to do and blog posts to write! Can I find one more picture to pull this post together?

I loves me some Bette and Joan.

This picture is appropriate for both a Throwback and Non-Sequitur Thursday Posts. It is a publicity shot from when Joan Crawford and Bette Davis were set to star in Hush… Hush, Sweet Charlotte in 1964. Crawford subsequently left the production. That is pretty far back. Come to think about it, it is not a complete non-sequitur, because the movie is a murder mystery. It’s a good movie. I highly recommend it.

I am not sure I can recommend this blog post, but you’ll have that. If only I could think of a title…

Deck Fratello’s

I was too tired to make my Thursday blog post on Thursday, and I am a little too tired and brain-dead to make a real post now. However, I have a few pictures of the Christmas decorations at Fratello’s Pizzeria in Frankfort, where we had such a nice time on Wednesday. I love Christmas decorations!

Guarding the door.

This nutcracker greeted us as we walked in the door. I was especially charmed by the snow carpet with all the little things.

“We could totally do this!” I enthused. “I have lots of little shiny things.” The only problem would be limiting the display to just one of Steve’s nutcracker collection. Perhaps we could do a variation on the theme.

I love the angels.

We have wine bottles, so I guess we could do this one, too.

That EXIT sign seems out of place.

This one might be a little harder to accomplish, but we have an arch between our living room and dining room, so I might try.

All these thoughts of Christmas decorations have certainly cheered me up. If only I didn’t have to work, so I could get started right away! Why, oh why was I not born rich instead of so damn good looking?

Fighting Lightheadedness and Autocorrect

I guess posting in the morning is a thing with me these days. Right now I am fighting the lightheadedness that periodically plagues me, but you’ll have that. (You know what else you’ll have: autocorrect putting capital letters where you don’t want them! I hope I manage to go back and fix them all) (And yet autocorrect let stand “fiz” for “fix”) (but I digress).

Where was I? Ah yes, making a Throwback Thursday Post, although since it is actually Friday morning (although my WordPress timestamp may not agree), we could also call it a Non-Sequitur Thursday. Or even Lame Post Friday! But let us not get bogged down in labels.

I contemplate myself.

This is only throwing back to June, when I ran in the Pride Stride 5K in Little Falls, NY. I am no hand at taking selfies.

I’m in the background of this one.

Here is a theatre throwback! It is Matt Powers mingling with the audience in Secrets at Suiter House, a murder mystery we did to benefit the Herkimer County Historical Society.

I’m not in this one.

This is a weird shot from December 2020, which of course was a kind of a weird time, for me and for others. I was taking a walk trying to get pictures of Christmas lights when I saw this leftover Halloween ghost. Or was it?

I see I have reached 200 words (in another officious autocorrect action, that almost read “00”). Score! I do not always reach that self-imposed goal these days. I hope you enjoyed my pictures. Thank you for tuning in.

More Max, Less Post

Fine daily blogger I am these days! I make a short post, then I miss a day! Right now it is Friday morning, and I don’t have a whole lot of time (for one reason, I also neglected to pack my lunch yesterday). I thought I might just share the other pictures I took of Max Scialdone at Fratello’s Pizzeria in Frankfort and call it a post.

Note the hockey team pennants.

He opened with “Vaya Con Dios.”

I liked the light show, too.

Steven especially enjoyed “Burning Ring of Fire.” He told me it was written by June Carter Cash.

The view from our seats at the bar.

I sang along with “Sister Golden Hair.”

I do love to eat good food and listen to good music!

Truman Capote Applies

Late posts. It has been a thing for a while now. Who knew getting back into daily blogging would be so hard for me (oh, YOU probably knew)(you know who you are)? At any rate, here I sit Friday morning, typing in (pecking one letter at a time with the stylus) (as Turman Capote once said, that’s not writing, that’s typing) what I believe will qualify as a Non-Sequitur Thursday Post.

I woke this morning with a raging headache. Seriously, in a lifetime of headaches big and small, this one was in the top ten for sheer pain. However, I knew I could not call in to work or I will not get paid for the Monday holiday, and, you know, money. Coffee, Gatorade, and a few neck stretches helped.

My niece is No. 8

One reason I did not post last night is that I traipsed off to Little Falls, NY, for another field hockey game. It did not rain, but the wind was cold! I’m all, “Bring on fall!” but I wish I had dressed a little more warmly.

Where’s the ball?

Having very little else to say, I throw in another picture.

And I just had a minor crisis trying to italicize my captions. I feel quite traumatized, and my headache is back. On the brighter side, I am over 200 words. Score! I will strive to make my Lame Post Friday post later today, when it is still actually Friday.

Did I say Electrified Zombie?

I pause in my evening activities (full disclosure: I was not doing anything very exciting, but I hope to watch some true crime television right along here) to make a Throwback Thursday Blog Post. This should be easy. All I have to do is find some good pictures.

In my defense, it has been a crappy week.

This is both a Throwback and Preview of Coming Attractions. These poops were used in two different murder mysteries. They may be used again in a murder mystery this fall. Did I say murder mystery? Yes! One may be upcoming. I’ll share more details when I have them.

Threatening, yes?

I do not remember when I took this shot, but it is apropos, because the weather reports keep threatening storms. I said I would like it if I got struck by lightning and turned into an electrified zombie type of monster. I could wander around terrorizing the neighborhood. It would make a nice change of pace for me.

Shady ladies.

Here is a real theatre throwback: Rubbed Out at Ruby’s. Nice.

I hope three pictures is enough. I did start to write a different post, all about the 10K I am supposed to run Saturday. Yikes! That’s the day after tomorrow! I’ll let you know how it goes.

You know, this post seems a little disjointed. I think I’ll categorize it Non-Sequitur Thursday.

I’ve got a Bone to Pick with this Blog Post

Regular readers may remember our skeleton, Bonita. She has not had a makeover in a while, but yesterday, Steven decided she needed a summer outfit.

I should look so good.

I have two headbands like that. One broke, so I bought another. Steven cleverly used the broken one on Bonita, so I was free to wear the other to Fratello’s.

Definitely not as skinny as Bonita.

I mean to write more about our evening at Fratello’s (I mentioned it yesterday, case you didn’t read that post). However, like yesterday, I am very tired. Perhaps my body will soon adapt to the rigors. Hmm.. what was my excuse before I went on overtime? I’m too tired to remember.

In the meantime, once again I have not met my self-imposed goal of 200 words per blog post. Maybe I can find another picture of Bonita in my Media Library.

Bonita and her little friend at Christmas.

I just realized we never gave the little skeleton a name. He was a gift from Steven. How about Bonaparte?

Does that picture make this a Throwback Thursday Post? Or shall I slap on an elliptical headline and call it a Non-Sequitur Thursday? Decisions! Maybe I’ll sleep on it.

PS: Just over 200 words.

Strolling to Sidewalks to Skeleton

How about a Throwback Thursday Post? I do not know how far back I can throw, given my difficulties navigating my Media Library (do other bloggers have these problems?) but I’ll do my best.

A woman and her grandson.

I somehow found one of my favorite photos. It is my sister Cheryl with her grandson Sheppie strolling through Root Glen in Clinton, NY. I just love a nature walk.

I also love a good pun.

I could not find another picture involving a nature walk, but I also like to walk on sidewalks, making the above headline kind of sort of related. Or am I veering into Non-Sequitur Thursday territory?

Never mind the sidewalk, look at the sky!

Here is another sidewalk (to continue a theme). This is from the rainy Halloween night of 2019. I love the colored trees against the grey sky.

Your dose of cuteness for the day.

I wanted to end with a monster. The utterly adorable skeleton is sitting in a mug which celebrates my last murder mystery, Fabulous and Fatal. I only hope it is not my Last murder mystery, if you see what I mean.

Looking at the headline I just typed in, I realize I should have included a picture of my husband, Steve. Maybe on the next Throwback Thursday.

Or maybe right now.

Just Get to 200 Words

So much for a better blog post on Thursday. In my defense, I had a headache. I don’t know if it was a migraine or a sinus headache, but the decongestant I took in case it was the latter knocked me out. The headache is gone now, so at least I have that going for me.

However, I lost a whole evening of Getting Things Done. Truth be known, if I had not had the headache, I may well have spent the evening knitting and watching true crime television (both Dateline and 20/20 were on), and my blog post may have been a similar rambling to what I now offer. What’s a blogger to do?

I guess what I always do: try to get to 200 words, hit Publish, hope for the best, and drive on. Maybe throw in a picture for good measure.

He was awesome.

Hey! I was able to add a caption! Yay! Anyways, this is in the nature of a Preview of Coming Attractions. It is local musician Matt Grainger. I recently enjoyed hearing him at Fratello’s Pizzeria in Frankfort, NY and intend to make a full post about it.

In the meantime, I am just about at 200 words. Score!
