Spoiler Alert: This One’s a Two-Parter

When I was huffing and puffing behind the manual lawn mower earlier, I thought I might get a blog post out of it.  Now I am not so sure.  Did I tell you what I did on Monday to feel like much woman?  For once I can’t be too lazy to go back and check.

Ah.  I said I made great efforts in yard work but did not specify.  Let’s see, can I make a long story short and do I even want to try?  We had not mowed our lawn yet this year,  and with all the rain it was getting a little embarrassing.  The reason (or the lame excuse,  if you are being judgemental) (you know who you are) was that our garage door is so difficult to open. It has always been a toughie, but last year the spring broke and, damn.

We tried putting an appeal out on Facebook, hoping a muscular friend or two could help us out.  Of course everybody was busy on the holiday.  Well we have limited days we are both available and it is not raining.

Obviously I cannot make a long story short, and that is too bad, because even I am getting bored with this one.  And I have the damnedest feeling I have told it before.  Listen, I checked one past post, I cannot, will not go around looking through… Oh, well, I guess it is only two more.  Silly me.

OK, I checked (answered a couple of comments while I was at it).  I’m good, haven’t told the story in this space.  However, it is getting to be a long story and I am tired.  I think I’ll make it a two parter. This part ends with me sitting in my house, considering my overgrown lawn and my stubborn garage door.  I guess you know how it ends, because of that line about great efforts in yard work, but there are a couple of twists along the way (or do I flatter myself? ).  I hope you’ll stay tuned.

Tired, Lazy, and Still One Post Behind

Oh dear.  I do not want to be two posts behind again (when, oh when will I make up that post? ), but, once AGAIN,  I got nuthin’.  At least I can liven up my Tired Tuesday post with a few pictures,  since I did not have Monstrous Monday.

Skinny guys don’t scare me that much.

I’m on my Tablet, so I can’t get any new pictures (surely regular readers are used to my technical ineptitude) (and my habit of calling them Shirley).  I tried to at least find some I have not used recently or very often.  The above may not have been the best choice, I mean as far as being different.  Since House on Haunted Hill is one of my all-time favorites,  it seems I would have used this picture a lot.  But, you guessed it, I’m too lazy to go back and check.

“Well, you see, boss, it was like this…”

Here’s one I know I haven’t overused:  George Zucco and an unknown friend.  At least I hope it’s George Zucco.  You know how you say a name and suddenly it doesn’t sound right?   It’s not just that I’m too lazy; it’s not as easy to open a new tab and check these things on the Tablet.   Oh, OK, I’m too lazy.

I’d like an outfit like that.

I know I haven’t overused this one.  I don’t even remember what movie it is from, although I ought to.  Maybe one of my readers knows and will tell me in a comment.  Was that a broad hint that I like it when people comment?  Could be.

Tired From My Ego Trip?

I went running after work today,  so I thought I c

ould make a Running Commentary post.  Since finishing the run, I have been running around doing all kinds of useful stuff (at least I hope it was all useful), so no promises as to how much of the run I remember.

Mostly I remember that it started bad but ended good.  Oh dear, should I have included a Spoiler Alert? Maybe I am not up to a Running Commentary post and should content myself with my usual Tired Tuesday (check it out, the predictive text thingy guessed I was about to type Tired Tuesday).

Writing has not been coming easily lately.  I can’t add “tired or not” because it seems I am always tired.  However,  I persevere.  I was rewarded earlier with some good ideas for the novel I am working on.  After I hit Publish on this piece of nonsense,  I may work on it some more.

Then again, if this is all I can manage for a blog post, what business do I have embarking on a novel?  What an ego!  Well, I have always maintained that there are worse things than having an ego the size of Manhattan.

In the meantime,  I just hit 200 words.  I am going to put the Tablet down and pick up my notebook (I mean the regular spiral-bound paper kind, not another computer).  Happy Tuesday and I hope to see you all on Wuss-out Wednesday (BONUS!  The predictive text thingy guessed Wuss-out Wednesday! ).

Typical Me on Tired Tuesday

I logged on to WordPress thinking I would start this post with, “I’m totally getting used to this Tablet posting.”  Then it took me like five tries to get from All Posts to Add New.  Is that typical me or what?  As a matter of fact, I was thinking that in lieu of my usual Tired Tuesday,  I would tell about a couple more typical me moments I had today.

I went to Hannaford to pick up a few things.

That was when I realized I was not as used to this Tablet posting as I thought I was. I tried logging on to my laptop.   Naturally I did not meet with success. So that makes another typical me moment.  Two, if you count deciding to switch to the laptop and failing to do so as separate moments.

Then again, why am I so struck by these “typical me moments”?  I am, after all, me.  Why would I not behave in a manner typical of myself?  Why should I be surprised when I behave in a manner typical of myself? I suppose I could say it is typical of me to be surprised at such a time.

Now I am thinking,  what’s wrong with a Tired Tuesday post?   It’s Tuesday.  I’m tired.  I hope to see you all on Wuss-out Wednesday.

So Many Monsters, So Little Time

How about a Monstrous Monday with new pictures?  I am just as tired as I can be and still type.  However, I poked around a couple of my favorite Facebook pages and found a few pics I like.  My theme is Cheesy Movies for Future Sunday Cinema.

Usually people complain about having a target on their back.

This is The Invisible Invaders (1959).  I found it on B-Movie Mania.  I won’t hazard a guess as to what is going on, but if I ever find the flick, I would like to write a blog post about it.

The other two I found on The Golden Age of Monster Movies.  That group is more about the classics than the cheese, but one man’s Oscar is another man’s Oh My God!  (I just made that expression up.  I don’t always resort to cliches, you know).

They say fish is brain food, but are our brains food for fish?

Lee Majors and Karen Black, how bad could it be?  Actually, I don’t quite remember who Karen Black is, but Lee Majors was The Fall Guy!  “Well I’m not the kind to kiss and tell, but I’ve been seen with Farrah,” the theme song began, with a little nudge-nudge, wink-wink, because at one point Farrah Fawcett was Farrah Fawcett-Majors.

Is anybody taking bets?

Many people love a Monster Mash-up (see what I did there?).  I personally do not mind one monster per film, but I am also flexible.  I am also over 200 words.  I’ll call that OK for a Monday and, as always, try for a better post tomorrow.

Not a Lot of Pictures, But…

So I didn’t make another post yesterday and thus get caught up.  Judge me if you’d like,  it is immaterial to me.  As for today, I am still recovering from my tiredness from the play.  Still, I had a pretty good day.  I had the foresight to put in for a vacation day, which I was fortunate enough to have to take.

I’m still pretty tired, though.  Too tired to sit up at the dining room table and type on the laptop with all ten fingers.  The couch is just SO comfy, and typing one letter at a time with the stylus is really not all that bad.  The more I do it, the better the predictive text thingy gets at, you know,  predicting (although it has yet to learn the word “thingy”).

All this by way of introduction to another All Morning’s at Seven All The Time. Yes, the play closed yesterday afternoon.  So what?  I have pictures!

Here we all are!

I must say that this is one of the best casts I have worked with.  Not a stinker among them!  The director and stage manager were pretty awesome, too.

Me and my good friend Jim.

This was the picture I most particularly wanted. It was my favorite scene.

I took a couple more pictures,  but they didn’t turn out so well.  There were other pics on Facebook that I could probably get,  but I don’t know how to do it on the Tablet .  Still, I’m over 200 words.  Regular readers know I consider that respectable.  Happy Monday,  folks!

AND I’m in a Play!

Well, what’s wrong with being two posts behind, anyways?

Full disclosure:  I have no real excuse to take a blogger’s sick day today.  Yes, I have a headache and lightheadedness.  I ALWAYS have that, at least to some extent.  As I sit here typing away, I admit to myself that I am capable of making some semblance of a blog post. But not a good blog post.  I know what.  It’s Thursday.  I’ll look for some old pictures and go for a Throw-back Thursday kind of a post.

It’s always a good time for skeletons!

Here is one of the first pictures I ever put in this blog.  It was taken at Pumpkin Junction in Sauquoit, NY, one of my favorite places to go in October.  Hey, does talking about October in May make this also a Non-Sequitur Thursday post?  Who says I can’t multi-task!

Mmmmm…. champagne.

Here is a real Throwback — all the way to 1990.  Ooh, and it’s still October.  I didn’t do that on purpose; I was just looking for an old picture of me and Steven.  Look how young and handsome he was!  He is still handsome, of course.

Aren’t they pretty?

Here is a picture from May of 2017.  This must be my front yard, which does NOT look like this right now.  I need to get out and do some yard work.  Will that happen this weekend?  I’m afraid it is not likely.  It is the second weekend for Morning’s at Seven at Ilion Little Theatre.  In fact, I need to get off the computer and take a shower to get ready for our pick-up rehearsal.  At least I made some semblance of a blog post!  If I could only think of a catchy title…

Almost Too Tired For Words

I am sitting on my couch typing into my Tablet one letter at a time with the stylus (with occasional help from the predictive text thingy).  I am just so tired these days!  Once I am quite finished with this play, I will try to lead a healthier lifestyle.   At least I will get more exercise.   I really think exercise is the magic elixir that will make all things better.

In the meantime, I need to make a blog post now.  Oh, wait, I can go for a Wordless Wednesday !

Can’t resist plugging this again,

I begin with one of the reasons I’m so tired.   SO worth it!  Theatre is my life!

Here’s a fun bunch!

This is a memory and kind of a preview of coming attractions.  Next weekend,  I might be doing a fun fundraising thing with some or all of these folks.  I’ll write more about that later, and hope to have some pictures to share.

I wear those same shoes in Mornings at Seven.

I like to have three pictures,  so here is one of me participating in another fundraiser,  a couple of years ago.   Yes, I show off my legs at almost any opportunity.

So here is my Not Exactly Wordless Wednesday post for the week.  Perhaps I should try to get to bed early.

A Word About Sunday

OK, back to one post behind.  And I guess I’m still All Mornings at Seven All the Time,  because instead of a Tired Tuesday post, I shall share a little story about my Sunday .  Full disclosure: I am on my Tablet typing one letter at a time with the stylus (the last eight words were quickly added utilizing the predictive text function,  tee hee).

So there I was in the dressing room during intermission, and there was a knock on the door.  Kaylynn answered.  I heard my husband’s voice!  Then Kaylynn handed me a lovely bouquet and declared that my husband was the cutest thing ever.  I didn’t even know he was coming to the show that day!

I tried to put it someplace where there was no clutter, not an easy thing to find at my house.

And here is the bouquet,  after I got it home and into a vase.

After the show, Steven and I went to Asteroga Ale House for a drink and some food.  Could that be why I neglected to make a second post on Sunday?  I regret nothing.

So I am still recovering from my tiredness.  Perhaps it would behoove me to lead a healthier lifestyle.   If I decide to try, I will be sure to write a blog post about it.  In the meantime , Happy Tuesday, everyone!
