I Live for Theatre

Oops, another late post. Judge me if you are so inclined. Even thought it is now early Friday morning, I want to do a Throwback Thursday Post. In honor of Steven and I being in another play (as regular readers know), I will do a Theatre Throwback.

A lovely family group.

I couldn’t find a picture with both me and Steve, but here is a cast picture from the last time I was on the Ilion Little Theatre stage, Morning’s at Seven in 2019. It was a delightful experience.

I was helping him out with a personal problem.

This is one of my favorite scenes from Morning’s at Seven, with one of my favorite actors and people, Jim Mills.

It all begins with a read-through.

I took some pictures of Wednesday’s read-through, but this is a read-through from March of 2020. It was for a murder mystery that did not happen until 2021, but when this shot was taken, we had high hopes.

I have high hopes for our current theatrical endeavor, and high hopes that I can stop with the late blog posts. Will my hopes be realized? A little suspense adds interest to my day.

(Ooh, not quite 200 words.) (Now it is.)

Morning’s Memories

That’s me, putting my husband in his place.

I saw this photo in my Facebook Memories this morning, and it did bring back good memories.  I thought I would use it in a Throwback Thursday post.  It is a rehearsal shot from Morning’s at Seven, a play I did last year at Ilion Little Theatre.  It was a great deal of fun.

I still have a copy of this, I think.

This is the flier, which we hung up all over the town, I hope.  At least, we got some good audiences.

This was kind of a dramatic moment.

Here is the entire cast on stage in costume.

Split screen of the same room.

And here are a couple of backstage shots.  Backstage is often as interesting as what goes on onstage, but I think this play was pretty interesting onstage. I do not recall any particular backstage dramas.  I try to avoid such things.

Pre-show cast selfie!

To prove my point about no backstage drama: here we are all before a show, looking perfectly happy together.  I loved the cast, crew and director of this play.  Yay for good memories.

A posed cast picture.

As long as I am having a Throwback Thursday about Morning’s at Seven, I might as well share all the pictures I can find.

And I gotta share my favorite!

This is one of my favorite scenes of the play, where I have a heart to heart with the character played by my good friend, Jim Mills.  He is  wonderful actor, and we both had a great time doing this scene.

It is nice to look back on theatre experiences past, and I hope one day soon to make some new memories.  Of course, I will make a few blog posts about it!

Let’s Hear It For Friends!

Oh yes, it is Slacker Saturday,  after I could not even manage a Lame Post Friday.  I can’t even offer a good excuse (can I ever?  That’s a subject for another blog). In fact, I had a bad headache for most of the day, without doing much to deserve it, believe it or not (and you don’t need to tell me if you don’t!).  But one must be able to function with a headache, especially if one is me, because I often have a headache.

But I must not dwell on my physical ills. After all, we all have problems.

After a headache-filled beginning of the day, we had a lovely evening with our friends Jim and Phyllis.  I am so grateful for good friends!

A truly delightful couple.

This is a picture from a different fun time. I didn’t take any pictures tonight.  I was too busy visiting.

Here is a good theatre memory.

This is a picture of Jim and me in Morning’s at Seven at Ilion Little Theatre last spring.  Our scene together was my favorite part of a play in which I had all enjoyable scenes.

Jim and another murder suspect.

And here is Jim in A G.R.A.V.E. Murder, which we presented two years ago.  Jim is a marvelous actor.  I hope to act with him again soon.

And I hope to get together with Jim and Phyllis again soon.  Slacker Saturday it may be, but I had fun with my friends!

Not a Lot of Pictures, But…

So I didn’t make another post yesterday and thus get caught up.  Judge me if you’d like,  it is immaterial to me.  As for today, I am still recovering from my tiredness from the play.  Still, I had a pretty good day.  I had the foresight to put in for a vacation day, which I was fortunate enough to have to take.

I’m still pretty tired, though.  Too tired to sit up at the dining room table and type on the laptop with all ten fingers.  The couch is just SO comfy, and typing one letter at a time with the stylus is really not all that bad.  The more I do it, the better the predictive text thingy gets at, you know,  predicting (although it has yet to learn the word “thingy”).

All this by way of introduction to another All Morning’s at Seven All The Time. Yes, the play closed yesterday afternoon.  So what?  I have pictures!

Here we all are!

I must say that this is one of the best casts I have worked with.  Not a stinker among them!  The director and stage manager were pretty awesome, too.

Me and my good friend Jim.

This was the picture I most particularly wanted. It was my favorite scene.

I took a couple more pictures,  but they didn’t turn out so well.  There were other pics on Facebook that I could probably get,  but I don’t know how to do it on the Tablet .  Still, I’m over 200 words.  Regular readers know I consider that respectable.  Happy Monday,  folks!

Scattered Sunday in Progress

Maybe I should have called this one Typing Frantically Before Closing Afternoon.  My friend Kim will soon pick me up to go to the matinee of Morning’s at Seven at Ilion Little Theatre.  Full disclosure:  We are stopping first at the liquid store to purchase libations for the cast party following the performance. Judge if you would like, but I am SO looking forward to sipping a dry red later on.

It has been a lovely experience, being in a play again.  I must say it has been a wonderful group of people to work with.  But I am tired.  Could I be getting older?  SAY IT AIN’T SO!!!!!  Oh, who cares?  If I’m getting older, I’ll take a nap or a vitamin or whatever it takes.  This is how it works, you know.

So I managed to sleep in till almost seven this morning (how appropriate!).  After coffee and a few games of solitaire (with an actual deck of cards, as God intended), I went to the grocery store.  I got a few things: stuff to make a salad for this week’s lunches, vegetables to chop for the cast party (I REFUSE to call them crudites!).  After eating some food and reading some of the paper (I am actually caught up in my newspaper reading and was reading today’s paper!), I decided to go for a walk.

It was a very pleasant walk. I did not bring my Tablet with me and take pictures, though, because I thought two Pedestrian Posts in a row was too much.  When I got home, I took my shower, chopped the vegetables, and mixed up a batch of my famous garlic dip.  And I made what I fear is a rather dull blog post.  Oh well, you’ll have that with a daily blog.  I can’t turn out a winner every time (I KNOW there are those who can, and how unhandsome of you to point that out) (you know who you are).

No matter.  I have made a blog post.  If I make one after the cast party (who, me? Drink and type?  Could be!), I will FINALLY be caught up.  If not, at least I will be only one behind, not two, which I would be, if I did not hit Publish now.  I hope your weekend is progressing as nicely as mine.

AND I’m in a Play!

Well, what’s wrong with being two posts behind, anyways?

Full disclosure:  I have no real excuse to take a blogger’s sick day today.  Yes, I have a headache and lightheadedness.  I ALWAYS have that, at least to some extent.  As I sit here typing away, I admit to myself that I am capable of making some semblance of a blog post. But not a good blog post.  I know what.  It’s Thursday.  I’ll look for some old pictures and go for a Throw-back Thursday kind of a post.

It’s always a good time for skeletons!

Here is one of the first pictures I ever put in this blog.  It was taken at Pumpkin Junction in Sauquoit, NY, one of my favorite places to go in October.  Hey, does talking about October in May make this also a Non-Sequitur Thursday post?  Who says I can’t multi-task!

Mmmmm…. champagne.

Here is a real Throwback — all the way to 1990.  Ooh, and it’s still October.  I didn’t do that on purpose; I was just looking for an old picture of me and Steven.  Look how young and handsome he was!  He is still handsome, of course.

Aren’t they pretty?

Here is a picture from May of 2017.  This must be my front yard, which does NOT look like this right now.  I need to get out and do some yard work.  Will that happen this weekend?  I’m afraid it is not likely.  It is the second weekend for Morning’s at Seven at Ilion Little Theatre.  In fact, I need to get off the computer and take a shower to get ready for our pick-up rehearsal.  At least I made some semblance of a blog post!  If I could only think of a catchy title…

Almost Too Tired For Words

I am sitting on my couch typing into my Tablet one letter at a time with the stylus (with occasional help from the predictive text thingy).  I am just so tired these days!  Once I am quite finished with this play, I will try to lead a healthier lifestyle.   At least I will get more exercise.   I really think exercise is the magic elixir that will make all things better.

In the meantime, I need to make a blog post now.  Oh, wait, I can go for a Wordless Wednesday !

Can’t resist plugging this again,

I begin with one of the reasons I’m so tired.   SO worth it!  Theatre is my life!

Here’s a fun bunch!

This is a memory and kind of a preview of coming attractions.  Next weekend,  I might be doing a fun fundraising thing with some or all of these folks.  I’ll write more about that later, and hope to have some pictures to share.

I wear those same shoes in Mornings at Seven.

I like to have three pictures,  so here is one of me participating in another fundraiser,  a couple of years ago.   Yes, I show off my legs at almost any opportunity.

So here is my Not Exactly Wordless Wednesday post for the week.  Perhaps I should try to get to bed early.

A Word About Sunday

OK, back to one post behind.  And I guess I’m still All Mornings at Seven All the Time,  because instead of a Tired Tuesday post, I shall share a little story about my Sunday .  Full disclosure: I am on my Tablet typing one letter at a time with the stylus (the last eight words were quickly added utilizing the predictive text function,  tee hee).

So there I was in the dressing room during intermission, and there was a knock on the door.  Kaylynn answered.  I heard my husband’s voice!  Then Kaylynn handed me a lovely bouquet and declared that my husband was the cutest thing ever.  I didn’t even know he was coming to the show that day!

I tried to put it someplace where there was no clutter, not an easy thing to find at my house.

And here is the bouquet,  after I got it home and into a vase.

After the show, Steven and I went to Asteroga Ale House for a drink and some food.  Could that be why I neglected to make a second post on Sunday?  I regret nothing.

So I am still recovering from my tiredness.  Perhaps it would behoove me to lead a healthier lifestyle.   If I decide to try, I will be sure to write a blog post about it.  In the meantime , Happy Tuesday, everyone!
