Tired Ten-Fingered Typing, Not On Time

It was pointed out to me in a comment on yesterday’s post that even coffee cannot make everybody happy.  What a comforting thought.  I suppose I cannot even hope to make as many people happy as coffee does, but let us not argue numbers.  Let us not argue at all.  For one reason, I am no hand at argument; I usually lose and fall prey to the scourge of “I SHOULD have said…”  even years later.  Oh, the people I could annihilate verbally if only I had a time machine!

Now there is an interesting thought:  how many people, if they had a time machine, would use it, not to prevent war, famine, pestilence, etc., but to go back and use all those zingers that occur to us in the middle of the night regarding long ago arguments and insults?  I am not saying I would do so.  If I encountered a time machine (I am WAY not smart enough to invent one), I would stay the hell away from it.  You don’t know what all you would really change, if you could change anything.  Anyways, time travel stories make my head hurt, so let us change the subject.

You may have noticed by now that once again, I got nuthin’.  It is early Wednesday morning and I am on my dining-room-table-top, ten-fingered typing a late Tired Tuesday post.  I do not trust my Tablet any more for blogging purposes.  And I must say ten-fingered typing without autocorrect (talk about scourges!) is a pleasure.  When I mean “hell” I can say “hell”  not “he’ll.”  Nice.

What a selection!

I wanted to throw in a picture to pep things up and at last managed to find, download, and add one I liked.  Regular readers know how technologically inept I am.  And now I see I am over 300 words.  Not too bad for a Late Tired Tuesday post.  Are they entertaining words?  I can only hope.

Not Wrist, Walk

OK, so, yesterday’s nonsense was a late Saturday blog post, and now I am trying for a late Sunday post.  For anybody who is keeping track.  At least I will not make it a Wrist to Forehead Sunday post.  I do not have much time for swooning around in the morning.

The screen read a different temperature yesterday.

I took a walk yesterday so thought to share a previously taken picture of something I walked by.  I was actually on the same side of the street as this church yesterday.  I even had my phone with me but was not inspired to use it.  That is OK, I think; my Media Library is pretty crowded anyways.  I wonder if I could find any other pictures of anything I walked by.  Hmmm…. where DID I walk yesterday?  I am so forgetful at my age.

I am fascinated by the old gravestones.

Ah yes, once again I walked by my beloved Herkimer Historic Four Corners.  I was on the same side of the street as this church, and as usual, admired the old stones in the graveyard.

Another of my favorite places.

I was across the street from the 1834 Jail, a place near and dear to my heart.  I add the picture, because this post is a little short on substance, so I will make it long on pictures.

You can just about see all four buildings in this shot.

I did not walk this far down Main Street but felt it fair to include a picture of all four corners.

My dear Elliott Ghoul.

I guess this is not a very good picture, but back home I was greeted by Elliott Ghoul, who permanently resides in my dining room window.  Only us older folks get the play on words of his name.  I also have a Harold Ghoul, but do not have a picture.  I must share one sometime (preview of coming attractions).

Late Saturday or On Time Sunday?

I had meant to continue my Late Post Weekend by making my Saturday blog post this morning (Sunday), but I had neglected to plug in my Tablet and was too lazy to sit up at the dining-room-table-top.  Additionally, I was trying to overcome a terrible bout of Don’t Wanna Do Nuthin’ complicated by additional symptoms of Not Knowing What I Ought To Do anyways.  Oh dear.  Anyways, now it is Sunday evening, and I am trying to make some semblance of a post at least before it is Monday.

And now my Tablet is acting up again!  It was doing that yesterday morning.  The cursor wouldn’t stay where I put it (for example in the title space) but kept jumping back to the body of the post.  Then the screen kept jumping up and down.  The latter problem hasn’t started yet, but I can’t seem to put in a title.  Yesterday morning I went to the dining-room-table-top to complete the post.  I suppose that is what I must do now.

I know: First World Problems.  It is probably also the perennial bugbear that dogs me:  Operator Error.  But what have I done?

I suppose the best thing I can do is to finish the post on the dining-room-table-top.  Only I am looking at a Columbo episode as I type this (one letter at a time with the stylus, I always feel compelled to add).

I just love him.

Oh well, I suppose one can pause the DVD player.  Once again, First World Problems.  Yes, I KNOW things could be much worse for me and I DO count my blessings!

I am now on the dining-room-table-top and have successfully put in a headline.  Now I will add categories and tags for what I am afraid is yet another post about Why I Can’t Make a Blog Post today.  If I manage to get on the computer tomorrow morning before work, I can count that post as Sunday’s, this post as Saturday’s, and I will be… OK, not exactly caught up, but back to being a daily blogger.  As always,  I thank you for tuning in.

Could I BE Any Lamer?

I thought of this title before I thought of anything to say.  I still cannot think of much to say but am determined to make my Lame Post Friday post.  We shall see how I do.

I suppose some of you have noticed that I missed posting Tuesday, Wednesday,  and Thursday.  I was just too tired.  Tuesday and Wednesday I fell asleep on the couch at an embarrassingly early hour.  Thursday I went to Ilion Little Theatre’s monthly dinner meeting so fell asleep a little later.

And I just remembered the thing I was supposed to do earlier today:  call the VA and make a primary care appointment to possibly find out why I am feeling so tired all the time.  How did I happen to forget that?  I guess I can blame it on feeling too tired.

A sweet couple.

I decided to throw in a picture to pep things up.  I was at Fratello’s Pizzeria in Frankfort earlier tonight.  I saw my niece Kimi and her boyfriend Matt.  They were not sitting at the bar, as they are in this picture, but I thought we could stretch a point.

It is very embarrassing to have missed posting for three days, especially since I missed posting for four not so long ago.  However, I shall not let embarrassment keep me from posting today.  I hope I have managed to entertain at least a few of you.

By the way,  I do not know if anybody noticed the oblique television reference in my title:  Chandler on Friends used to put emphasis on unexpected words.  I used to watch a lot more television.

Pre-Play Post

The question is do I have enough time to make a Scattered Saturday Post before I have to go to the theatre for the next performance of The Man in the Bowler Hat  (at Ilion Little Theatre; perhaps you read some of my blog posts about it) and I believe the answer is no.  Anyways, it has been more of a Slacker Saturday for me.  Judge me if you are so inclined.

I cannot tell if I am coming down with something or if it is my allergies making me feel miserable.   I suspect and hope the latter, because I would hate to be contagious.  In any case, I just thought I would whine about it.  Also, if I do come down with something and pass it on to you, don’t say I never gave you anything!

Where was I?  Ah yes, attempting some semblance of a blog post with one eye on the time.  That is, of course, just an expression.  My eyes do not act independently from one another, as I have heard some eyes in the animal kingdom do.

I finally got back to walking today, after taking too many days off.  I fear my lack of exercise has had a hand in my sad mood lately.  Of course I get some physical activity at work, but it is not the same thing (oh yeah, once again I neglected to ice my tennis elbow) (note to self: look up real term for “tennis elbow,” in order to avoid those yahoos who ask when you find time to play tennis).

Oh I’ll be damned! This nonsense has gotten me over 250 words!  I’ll throw 8n a picture for entertainment value, hit Publish, and call it a day.

I walked by the spring today.

A Little More Late, A Little More Lame

I don’t think I have ever made my Lame Post Friday post this late before.  And how bad is it that I am only happy that I can do this to procrastinate doing something useful?  Oh well, one does what one can.  In my defense, I am tired from working all day and being in a play.  Additionally, I have been plagued by headaches.  But enough whining, on with the blog post!

Personally, I am not a night person either.

I throw in a picture to pep things up.  This was a present from my late, dearly missed husband, Steve.  I do not know where the cute little vampire is.  The cup should be in my cupboard.  I must find it.

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!

I was going to continue with Halloween decorations, but this gem caught my eye.  Don’t you sometimes just feel like screaming, even without a creepy lady curling her fingers at you?

Threaten me with an ax, will ya?

I guess it’s Put In Random Pictures And Talk About Them Day.  This is from a rehearsal of Roxy, a play presented by the Herkimer County Historical Society and Ilion Little Theatre.  It concerned the true story of a local murder of a man by his wife.  Quite frankly, I think he had it coming, but then, I played the wife, so you can’t take my word for it.

I see I am over 200 words, so I guess it is on to doing something useful for me.  I wonder if it would be considered useful to take a nap.

Did Anybody Miss Me? Or My Monsters?

Well, this is dreadful.  I have not posted in four days.  I haven’t missed this many days in a row since I had COVID.  I was (and I guess am) sick again, but I do not know what it is.  The main symptom seems to be complete exhaustion.  I guess not literally complete, because I did go to work yesterday and made it through the whole day.  I even did some work.

Never mind my stupid physical problems (and we won’t even go NEAR the mental ones).  Let me try instead for a blog post.

“Puttin onna RIIIIIIIITZ!”

When in doubt, throw in a monster, that’s my motto.  Here is the Monster and his creator from Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein, one of my all-time favorite movies.

Me too.

And here is the Bride, with a rather profound saying.  Have I had enough coffee for profundity?  Better have a little more.

Can you dig it?

Torn between two pictures, I went instead for a third one, because I have not used it in recent memory.  Back in the ’70’s, when I was in my early teens, my favorite saying was “Dig it!”  I became rather tiresome with it, as junior high school students are apt to do.  Am I becoming tiresome with my monsters?  I’m afraid that is what old lady bloggers are apt to do.

In any case, I am over 200 words.  I’m a blogger again!  Or do I flatter myself?

Post-Play Post

Earlier today I was not feeling Friday.  It seemed to me I was going to work again tomorrow.   How happy I am now that this is not the case!  I am home after opening night of An Evening of Timeless Comedy, the production I am in at Ilion Little Theatre (ILT).  Regular readers may recall that this is a collection on three one-act plays of significance in ILT’s.

A fun bunch!

Here is a backstage shot of the cast of the one-act I’m in, The Man in the Bowler Hat.  Yes, that is a glass of wine in my hand.  We had already done our part,  and I was celebrating.  I brought enough wine to share, although not everyone wanted some.

An Evening of Timeless Comedy continues at Ilion Little Theatre, 13 Remington Ave., Ilion,  NY, Sept. 16, 22 and 24 at 7:30 p.m., and Sept. 17 and 25 at 2 p.m.  For more information you can visit their Facebook page or website, http://www.ilionlittletheatre.com.

I see I am not up to 200 words yet.  However, I am too tired to think of any more.  Perhaps I can call this Lame Post Friday and get away with fewer words.

Post Headache Post

In my last post I said something about my blog posts suffering, but for the last few days, I have been suffering.  My seasonal allergies have kicked in big time with the result that I am lighted-headed and/or headachey, and breathing is not the easiest.  I apologize for whining about it; I only wanted to explain why I missed posting on Wednesday and Thursday.

I made it through work both days and through rehearsal on Wednesday, so there’s that.  Last night we did not have rehearsal, so I had a long sleep.  Oh, the sheer relief of waking up without a headache!  I hope that state continues.  In the meantime, perhaps I can manage some semblance of a blog post.

Clearly I am not buying what he is selling.

Throwback Thursday or Wayback Wednesday on Friday morning, that’s the ticket.  This is my late, beloved husband Steve and me in Harvey at Ilion Little Theatre back in 2012.  What a fun show that was!

My most comfortable costume.

Here we are again in Splitting Issues in 2015.  Or was it ’16?  Anyways, it was the 2015-16 season.  I sit in that same chair in the current play I am in.  I love community theatre.

This gets me to 200 words, so I say, “Phew!” And I just hit something that made my screen ENORMOUS!  Oh dear.  I had better hit Publish before I really screw things up!

By the Way, I’m in a Play

So yesterday it was a migraine.  I made it through rehearsal, so that was something.

Oh yeah, rehearsal.  I have not said much about the play I am in at Ilion Little Theatre (ILT).  It is being billed as An Evening of Timeless Comedy and consists of three one-act plays of significance in ILT’s history.  I am in The Man in the Bowler Hat.  The other two plays are  So’s Your Old Antique and The Mayor and the Manicure.

One reason I have been so tired lately is the wear and tear of being in a play.  Another reason is that seasonal allergies are doing a number on me.  The other reason is my ongoing grief and depression.  So once again I ask my readers for patience as my blog suffers.

It’s called a table reading, although we do not actually read the table.

Here is a picture from our first read-through.   I meant to take more rehearsal shots but did not get to it somehow.

That same night.

Performance dates September 15, 16, 22, 23 at 7:30 p.m. and September 17, 24 at 2 p.m. at Ilion Little Theatre, 13 Remington Ave., Ilion, NY.  General Admission is $20.  For more information,  you can visit the Ilion Little Theatre Club Facebook page or website www.ilionlittletheatre.org
