Post Performance Post with Pics

I am not surprised I missed making my Saturday blog post on Saturday.  When I hadn’t gotten to it before I left for the play, I knew I was unlikely to get to it afterwards.

The play, of course, is Love’s Labour’s Lost, presented by LiFT, Little Falls Theatre Company as part of Canal Celebration (perhaps you have read a few of my blog posts about it).  It was a lot of fun.

I received a few pictures in my email, which I will now share.

A royal couple.
The princess and her courtier.
And with one of her ladies.
Frenemies. I’m the one in the cap.
The girls plotting against the guys.
They are both in disguise.
Curtain call without the curtain.

We have one more performance, today, Sunday Aug. 14, 1 p.m., at Benton’s Landing in Little Falls, NY. Admission is free. If you’re in the area, come on down!

Thursday? Friday? Hey, It’s a Post

I have been so good about making my blog post on the day indicated.  I have at worst resorted to a Post-Rehearsal Post.  But here I sit Thursday evening, wondering exactly how bad it would be to make my Non-Sequitur Thursday post on Friday  morning.  Oh, I understand it would be bad.  But would it be terrible? Would it be catastrophic?

Obviously it would not.  I have done it many times.  But it is not my favorite thing to do. I can only say it is better than not posting at all.  Which I have done.

Where was I?  Ah yes,  trying to make at least a Non-Sequitur Thursday Post.

Regal, yes?

I quickly throw in a picture from 2017, to make for a Throwback Thursday Post.  Oh yeah, it is also All Love’s Labour’s Lost All The Time,  because this is a shot from a previous offering from LiFT, Little Falls Theatre Company. The actor is in this year’s offering, but he does not wear this costume.

Now it is Friday morning and I am sipping coffee and trying to finish this post despite the headache that came to me during the night.  Yes, I just had to throw in that little whine.  Judge me if you are so inclined.

However, that useless little paragraph got me over 200 words.  I say that is OK for a Non-Sequitur Thursday Post.  I’ll just throw in one more picture of Love’s Labour’s Lost, because, you know, All The Time.

Similar to the last one I shared, but a little different.

Once again, Love’s Labour’s Lost by William Shakespeare will be presented by LiFT, Little Falls Theatre Company Saturday and Sunday August 13 and 14 at 1 p.m.  at Benton’s Landing in Little Falls, NY, part of Little Falls Canal Celebration. Admission is free.

What’s Wrong with a Post-Rehearsal Post, Anyways?

I think I have time for a Pre-Rehearsal Post before my ride picks me up, but is it the best use of my time?  The more I think about it, the more flustered I get.  Now I am getting heart palpitations.  Or is that heartburn because I ate the wrong thing for supper?  As regular readers know,  most of my problems fall under the heading Operator Error.

Someone’s in trouble.

I threw in a picture from last night’s rehearsal, to try to get myself back on track.  Hmm… It’s no use.  My brain is not responding.  Not an unusual situation for me,  you may justly observe.

That is where I gave into my nerves, saved what I had, and logged out.  Now it is after rehearsal and I would like to finish this post before I go to bed.  I am not as exhausted as I felt yesterday, so I’ve got that going for me.

An amusing pair indeed.

As I keep saying, there are many funny parts in the play.  I keep sharing them with my husband Steve, with the result that he says now he does not need to go see the play.  I shall not repeat the error with my blog readers.

I took a lot of shots of this scene.

Once again, Love’s Labour’s Lost by William Shakespeare will be presented by LiFT, Little Falls Theatre Company Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 13 and 14 at 1 p.m. at Benton’s Landing in Little Falls, NY, as part of Little Falls Canal Celebration. Admission is free.

Labouring Over Tired Tuesday

Hello and welcome to another Post-Rehearsal Post.  There will not be many more of these.  For one reason, we do not have many more rehearsals.  Yikes!  Opening Performance is in just four days!

Regular readers know I am talking about Love’s Labour’s Lost by William Shakespeare, being staged by LiFT, Little Falls Theatre Company as part of Little Falls Canal Celebration this weekend. I just got back from a dress rehearsal.  I brought my Tablet and took a few pictures.

It was hard to get one where everybody showed.

I will need to work on getting a few shots of the scenes I am in.  And maybe get a few staged shots to really show the costumes.

Another funny scene.

I am still laughing out loud over some of the bits in this play.  I have some very funny castmates.

This was an earlier scene. Should I have gone in order?

I guess I do not have a whole lot else to say about rehearsal.  I am going to say that is OK for a Tired Tuesday Post.  For one reason,  I want to go to bed NOW.

I will probably spread my pictures out over a few posts.  After all, it is All Love’s Labour’s Lost All The Time.

Once again, performances are at Benton’s Landing in Little Falls, NY Saturday and Sunday, August 13 and 14 at 1 p.m.

Never Mind Lame, How About Love?

Yes, I was lame enough to miss my Lame Post Friday post (and my predictive text thingy is really falling down on the job; it used to always jump right in with “Post Friday post” when I typed in “Lame”) (pecked in one letter at a time with the stylus, I like to add).

Where was I?  Ah yes, posting late and lame, neither of which is an unusual situation for me.  Yesterday morning I made Thursday’s post with no apology for its being late.  Full disclosure: at first I typed in a couple of sentences about it but deleted them.  I did not want to distract from the post, which I thought was a good, non-lame one, plugging both a local business and my upcoming Shakespeare play (alas, I did not get a lot of blogger love, but you’ll have that).

I love our cast.

Since I mentioned our Shakespeare play, I thought I’ve throw in another rehearsal shot.  It took me a little time to be sure I wasn’t uploading the same picture twice.  Now that I have more storage space in my Media Library, I am careful of preserving it.

I will just mention that this blog may become All Love’s Labour’s Lost All The Time.  One week from today is Opening Afternoon!  Hmm, that does not have the same ring to it as Opening Night.  Never mind.  It will be fun.

Once again, Love’s Labour’s Lost, will be presented by LiFT, Little Falls Theatre Company at Benton’s Landing in Little Falls, NY, August 13 and 14 at 1 p.m., part of Little Falls Canal Celebration. Free admission! I hope to see you there!

What Post? How About Some Pics?

What a surprise, that I should wuss out on Wuss-out Wednesday, especially when I had rehearsal (my autocorrect keeps wanting to capitalize “rehearsal” just because I had caps lock on in a recent message I sent) (in my defense, I felt strongly about it) (and lowercase “rehearsal” is getting underlined).

Enough with the parenthetical comments, on with the post!  I shall share a few more rehearsal shots.  I took a bunch to submit with my article for Mohawk Valley Living magazine, and they only used one.  They printed the article, yay!  If you want to pick up a copy and read it, which I encourage you to do,  it is available at Stewart’s shops and advertisers’ locations.

They are not playing jump rope.

This is a very funny scene, among many.  I feel I don’t flatter myself,  because I am not in it and so have perspective.

“He speaks the mere contrary!”

It is a little difficult, looking between my Media Library and device, trying not to upload the same picture  twice.  Wow, it is true what my co-workers say: I AM always whining!

I picked one with more people in it.

This is another of my favorite scenes.  Full disclosure:  hey are almost all my favorite scenes.

Local readers, I cordially invite you to come see Love’s Labour’s Lost, presented by LiFT, Little Falls Theatre Company, 1 p.m., Saturday and Sunday,  Aug. 13 and 14, 2022, at Benton’s Landing, Little Falls NY.  It is part of the Canal Celebration festivities, and it is FREE!

PS.  Autocorrect wants to call it “Benson’s Landing.”  Wasn’t he on a TV show in the ’70’s?

More a Scattered Post than a Scattered Sunday

I had a little trouble with WordPress over the weekend with the result that I last posted Friday morning (Thursday’s post, by the way) and it was not actually posted. It seems I neglected to click on something to confirm something, blah blah woof woof.  I am so in the wrong century.  The main thing I have gained from the computer era, and this occurred in the last century,  is the perfect summation of my life:  Operator Error.  One good thing is that I find myself perfectly set up for a Wrist to Forehead Sunday Post.

I’m the tough one brandishing the pitch fork.

However, rather than continuing to lament my ills, I wanted to share this blast from my past that showed up in my Facebook Memories.  It is Much Ado At the Zoo, when LiFT, Little Falls Theatre Company presented Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing at the Utica Zoo in 2016 (do I really need to tell anybody it is Shakespeare’s? Oh, I suppose I do).

Right now I should be studying my lines for Love’s Labour’s Lost, which we are doing this year (perhaps you read one of my blog posts about it).  I will read through them before I go to bed.

In other news, I went running this morning for the first time in two months.  It went pretty well. I enjoyed it.  I wanted to make a Running Commentary Post, only I did not solve my WordPress problems till later in the day, and the moment had passed.

I see I am over 250 words.  I think I will bill this as a Scattered Sunday.  I hope I have done all the right things and can continue to post on a daiy basis.  Then again, a little uncertainty adds interest to my life.  Happy Sunday, everyone!

LiFT Labours

Rehearsals continue for Love’s Labour’s Lost by William Shakesapeare, to be presented by LiFT, Little Falls Theatre Company as part of Little Falls Canal Celebration August 13 and 14, 2022. We rehearsed last night, with the result that I was too tired to make even a Tired Tuesday Post.  I hope to make it up to you by sharing a few more rehearsal pictures.  Of course I also hope to induce local readers to come out and see the play.  It’s going to be great!

A delightful bantering duo.

We were looking at costume pieces last night, so I should have taken a couple more pictures, only I did not have my Tablet with me.  Don Armadio, the dude in the hat, is going to wear the purple cape I wore a few years ago as Gonzago, or whatever his name was in The Tempest.  Don’t judge me to harshly for forgetting the name.  I am having enough trouble remembering my lines for this one!

The prince and his guys.

We have been having a blast at rehearsals, cracking each other up.  When somebody does something, on purpose or accidentally, particularly funny, we all yell, “Keep it! Keep it!”  I would give an example, but I don’t want to spoil the joke for anybody who comes to see the play.

This one is a really funny scene!

I think I will bring my Tablet tonight and get somebody to take some pictures with me in them, as well as my friend Kim.  All our scenes are together, so I have none of her, either.  Egregious omission!  Does that sound Shakespearean?  I may be infected.

Love’s Labour’s Lost will be shown free of charge at Benton’s Landing in Little Falls, NY, at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, August 13 and 14, 2022.  I hope to see you there!

Cool Music on a Hot Night

Yesterday I noticed that Phil Arcuri was playing at Fratello’s Pizzeria in Frankfort, NY.  While waiting to punch out after work, I called my husband, Steve.  The answering machine picked up.

“Hi, honey, I just wanted to put this in your mind before I get home…”

“Get your ass in the shower, we’re going out!”  my work friend Rick shouted behind me.  Steve picked up the phone at that point.  He had not heard Rick’s interjection, so I filled him in on that.  The current heat wave has drained up both of energy (yes, I KNOW other parts of the country have it worse, at least we have fans, we are just big babies, oh, shut up), but we decided it would be nice to go sit somewhere air conditioned, eat some good food and hear some music from one of our favorites.

Oh no, my computer is doing the thing where I add the picture and it does not let me type anything below it.  When I try to the cursor jumps back up here.  Well I don’t have time to futz with it now.  I’ll just leave the picture at the end of the post.  It is not a current picture anyways.  I did not bring my Tablet, because I forgot to charge it.  I took one picture with my phone, which I immediately shared on Facebook, in case any local friends might like to hurry out and join us, but right now my phone is charging.  This is all by the way.  Let’s get back to the post.

Steve and I agree that nobody seems to have more joy in music and living than Phil Arcuri.  It is always a pleasure to hear him play.  Additionally, he includes the setting and audience in his songs.  In “Margaritaville,” he said his “brand new tattoo” is “a Fratello’s cutie,” and in one chorus it was “all Geno’s fault.”  Geno is a member of Fratello’s excellent staff.

Speaking of staff, we had a new bartender, Savannah.  She was new to Fratello’s, too.  I asked her what the Cali sauce was like in the Cali Chicken, available as a sandwich or wrap.  She said it was barbecue and spicy, but not too spicy.  I decided to try it, as a wrap, only with grilled instead of fried chicken.  Geno once suggested that substitution to me, when I wanted the chicken wing salad but hesitated, because deep fried does not always agree with me (although I confess I love it).  It was a delicious sandwich.  Steven contented himself with a salad.

We had not been to Fratello’s for food and music in a while, because I usually have rehearsal for Love’s Labour’s Lost in Little Falls (perhaps you read a few of by blog posts about that).  We were delighted to have the opportunity to go last night.  It made a nice break from hunkering down in front of fans at our house (YES, I am grateful I have fans! Sheesh!)

He always has a great time, and makes sure everybody else does, too!

Post-Rehearsal Post with Pics

Well, I think I finally upgraded my WordPress account and can share new pictures.   I think I did it wrong and paid more than I had to, but never mind that. Let’s see some new pictures!

Forsooth, and stuff!”

I took some pictures at yesterday’s rehearsal for Love’s Labour’s Lost, the Shakespeare play being presented by LiFT, Little Falls Theatre Company during the Canal Days celebrations in Little Falls,  NY this August.  Wow, what a mouthful.  And not nearly as graceful a mouthful as some of our speeches.

Another dramatic moment.

Full disclosure: I really took these pictures in hopes of submitting them with an article I hope to write for Mohawk Valley Living magazine.  As of this posting I have not yet written said article.  Judge me if you are so inclined.

Here’s some Love’s Labour’s Lost!

Here is another disclosure:  I am sitting on my front porch, pecking in one letter at a time with the stylus on my Tablet, looking up every so often to watch it get dark (one of my favorite things to do), and I am tired.  I shall end this post with some information I should perhaps have shared earlier.

Love’s Labour’s Lost will be presented Saturday and Sunday, August 13 and 14 at 1 p.m. at Benson’s Landing, Little Falls, NY.  Local readers, I hope to see you there.
