Lame Conquers All

It doesn’t,  of course.  Neither love nor lame conquers all; I just like putting “lame” into a popular saying for the headlines of my Lame Post Friday posts.  In this case, my lameness conquered me last night and I am once again making my Lame Post Friday post on Saturday morning, but one could scarcely consider that conquering all, even if one was given to hyperbole.

Last night I auditioned for a play the for the first time in over a year.  I will write more about that later, especially if I return to the second or third night of auditions (preview of coming attractions).  After auditions my friend Kim and I went to Lombardo’s Pizza for food and wine.  That may be why I became too tired to blog last night.

The slippers have since worn out.

I drew a blank on what to say next so resorted to my Media Library  and found this shot from a play I was in at Ilion Little Theatre in 2015 (yikes! That was a while ago).  I was Lily Piper in The Busybody.

I still have these sneakers.

I purposely looked for another picture of my feet.  I was wearing these socks yesterday, but different sneakers and no leggings.  I meant to take a picture but forgot to.  Too lame?  You decide.

Whine Today, Wine Tomorrow

I do not know why I am so tired.  I did not go running after work, because I was concerned about air quality issues.  I also did not run errands as I had intended to do nor did I do the laundry and other household chores.  I feel even more tired after listing the things I was supposed to do.

So I am thinking this is not merely a Lame Post Friday post, I am having a Lame Friday!

Have a bloody good day!

I thought I would throw in a picture before I got too bogged down.  A little vampire always brightens my day.

Tomorrow I am getting together with family at a winery for good music and good times.  I have nothing to wear (see previous paragraph about not doing laundry), the wrong gel for my hair, and no gas in my car.  These are problems which can be solved in the morning, I hope.

Perhaps this could form part of tomorrow’s ensemble.

Now I am just looking for random pictures to fill up the post.

Who, me? Drink wine?

Perhaps I am still tired as a result of yesterday’s migraine.  These things can take a toll on a woman my age (by the way, I have been referring to myself as “a woman my age” since my mid-30s).

In the meantime, I have made it to over 200 words with this nonsense.  I hope you are all having a delightful Friday, and thank you for tuning in.

Monstrous Monday Sucked the Life Right Outta Me

All I can manage today is a Monstrous Monday Post, and we’ll see how well I can manage that.  Full disclosure: sometimes it seems easier to troll my Media Library than to download new stuff.  My technological know-how seems to be going downhill.  How can that be?  Never mind.  On with the post!

“I bid you velcome to my blog post.”

I just watched the Bela Lugosi Dracula yesterday.  I was trying to think of a horror movie to watch and remembered this was one Steven did not often want to see.  Under the heading Now That He’s Gone, I suppose, although I confess it was not the thrill I was hoping for.

“Uh, I’m kind of in the middle of something here!”

Moving to an older vampire movie, I think Nosferatu looks a little startled in this shot.  Of course, vampires do not usually expect to be interrupted in their work.  I understand that is one advantage to the night shift.

These two look rather neutral.

To continue with the vampire theme, here are two from  Mark of the Vampire.  I have not seen this one in a while.

Gotta get me an outfit like that!

Not having much else to say, I add another photo from Mark of the Vampire.  I’m afraid this has been rather a dull post, but I hope you have at least enjoyed the pictures.  As usual, I’ll try for a better blog post tomorrow.

Some Sort of Sunday

It’s not so much that I mind tomorrow being Monday.  It is more that I let another weekend go by without accomplishing much.  Then again, what did I hope to accomplish?  One might argue that I did not plan to fail, I failed to plan.  I hate it when people talk in sound bites.

That’s one way to make a Monday even worse.

One might also argue that weekends are for relaxing and recharging one’s batteries.  Do I feel recharged?  I don’t know, but at least I do not feel overly depleted.  I forgot where I was going with this.

A star-studded cast.

A good part of today was spent watching movies.  I enjoyed the Kenneth Branagh Murder on the Orient Express.  I found it to be a very sad movie, though, so I went back to my beloved Columbo (I don’t need to show the picture of Peter Falk again, do I?).

It’s trippy.

I popped in The Terror, because I find these old, cheesy horror movies relaxing.

I did not go there today.

Oh dear.  I looked through my Media Library for a graphic from Dementia 13, the next movie I watched.  Finding none, I downloaded one.  Somehow in the process, I added the above shot of my husband, Steve, and our friend Tracy at the Waterfront Grille in Herkimer, NY.  I just can’t bring myself to delete it so beg your pardon for the digression.

I did bring myself to delete the downloaded picture from Dementia 13, because it turned out too small.  I don’t know how to change the size.

I see I have gotten over 250 words with this nonsense.  I am going to call that respectable and go back to not accomplishing much.  I hope you are having a lovely Sunday.

April Lame!

OK, I said I was going to make my Lame Post Friday post on Friday and here I am.  Unfortunately,  I got nuthin’.  That should not matter on Lame Post Friday, but somehow it does.

Remarkably similar, yes?

I thought a picture might spark more words and found this one from April 2021.  I confess it does not look a whole lot different from more recent pictures of crocuses,  yet I cannot stop from taking pictures of what they look like this year.

J’accuse!

Here is a different April shot.  I just SEARCHED through my posts from April 2019 to find that the title of this murder mystery was Murder by the Book.  I am not inclined to also do a Google (or even a Duck Duck Go) search to see if “J’accuse” is the proper French spelling.

Earlier today I went to a wine tasting at Valley Wine and Liquor in Herkimer.  I also spent some time sitting on my front porch, enjoying the weather. I sipped a little wine while I did so.  I also spent some time planning my Mohawk Valley Adventures for tomorrow.

I need to get such a short ‘do again!

Just to give another picture from April, here are my friend Kim and I at Gerber’s 1933 Tavern in Utica in April 2017 for their Prohibition Party.  I love to dress up!

Ooh look, I have gotten myself over 200 words.  Not bad for a Lame Post Friday post,  I say.  Thank you for tuning in.

Mid-Week Monsters from my Media Library

I am having a hard time writing anything these days.  I open a notebook (the spiral-bound paper kind), uncap a pen, and…  sometimes I write a word or two, sometimes not.  I guess the important thing is to keep trying.  So I will try to make a blog post.  I know what!  It’s Wednesday:  I will do a Mid-Week Monsters Post! I look in my Media Library…

He’s not the only one who was scared!

I open with Nosferatu (1922), because I have been watching it on DVD while running in place on the mini-tramp this past week or so.  I have only been doing short runs, so it took a few times to see the whole movie.

Not showing the monster, but appropriate for the day.

I love Young Frankenstein, in fact, I love most of Mel Brooks’ movies.

“This is a good boy!”

Here is the monster! At first, I went to Facebook and downloaded a new photo, but when I tried to put it in the post, it was really small, so I went back to my Media Library.  I do not properly understand photos and computers.

“I said I only wanted a trim!”

After Dracula (although they couldn’t call him that) and Frankenstein,  I put in the Wolfman.  I don’t know what movie this is from; it was in my Media Library.  Sometimes I just download pictures I like.

This silliness has gotten me over 200 words.  Apparently I can come up with more words pecking in one letter at a time with the stylus.  Tomorrow I will try again with pen and paper.

Have I Over-Used the Word “Monstrous”?

Since I did not have a Monstrous Monday,  I thought I would make a Mid-Week Monsters Post.  I feel moderately pleased with myself for making my Wednesday post on Wednesday.  It is Wednesday, isn’t it?  I get in such a time warp sometimes. My watch says it is Wednesday.  Phew!

Wait, why am I saying, “Phew!”?  It is still only half-way through the week!

Am I over the hump?

I guess these are not monsters, but they have to do with a great monster in the movie Young Frankenstein.  It took me a while to find this in my Media Library.  I need to index that thing.  And maybe find some new monster pictures.

Puttin’ on the Ritz!

Well, that took a long time!  I searched for a new monster picture, sticking with Young Frankenstein.  I don’t know which took longer, searching my Media Library or searching for something new.  This is monstrous!

I went back to my Media Library but could not find anything from Young Frankenstein and could not settle on anything else.  My indecisiveness continues to plague me.

Perhaps I am rather monstrous.

As in an earlier blog post, I went another way.  I was unsuccessful in downloading a new photo (although I did find one).  Then I could barely decide on something from the now infamous Media Library. Now my Tablet’s charge is getting low.  What a monstrous time I am having!  But as usual in my life, the problem is operator error.  I neglected to plug in said Tablet earlier.

On the brighter side, I am over 250 words.  And three pictures.  Not too monstrous, I hope.

Way Back to When I Posted On Time?

I thought to myself, I can’t do a Throwback Thursday Post immediately following a Wayback Wednesday Post.  Then I thought, Yes I can!  I’ll look in my Facebook On This Day and share a picture from there, thinking no doubt there would be something I have not shared before.  Well, not so much.

The only photos were a couple of profile pictures.  One was Bette Davis in Hush… Hush, Sweet Charlotte. A Throwback indeed, but I have shared that picture before.  The other was a drawing with a small fake-solemn speech about not letting winter defeat us.

“I could spit in your eye!”

The reason I was reluctant to share it again was that I feared it would take too l9ng to find it in my Media Library.  I gave it a try and, Hello, Bette!  I have thoughts of going through my Media Library and making a month by month index, so I can readily lay my cursor on what I want.  Well, how many things do we say, “One day I am going to…”?  How many of these do we actually do?  I know, some, but how long does it take us?

Speaking of taking a long time to do things, I might as well confess I am making my Thursday blog post on Friday morning after making my Wednesday post on Thursday.  Does that make this a Non-Sequitur Thursday Post?   Let’s pretend it does.

No Toot Tuesday?

I don’t know what I thought I was going to make other than a Tired Tuesday Post.   I mentioned Toot My Horn Tuesday,  but I really have no reason to do any such thing.  It is the third day of the New Year. There is no sign of a new me, and I am quite frankly getting a little tired of the old me.

Yes, yes, yes, I know what I said yesterday about there being worse things than a large ego, implying you know what about the size of mine.  Who knew a large ego could come and go with such irregularity?  Oh, YOU probably did (you know who you are).  Come to think of it, I knew it too; mine has been coming and going my whole life.  You would think I would be used to it by now.

Regular readers know I usually do enter.

I thought I would throw in a picture to pep things up only had no idea of what.  I started to scroll through my Media Library and found this.  I thought, when it comes to pondering if I have any reason for ego, I really should not go there.

This is good advice for me, now that I think about it.  It would be a good idea if I just went about my business and did not worry too much about my own worth.  I am hardly the best judge of such things.

I see this nonsense has brought me over 200 words.  200 worthy words?  As I said, I am not the best judge of these things.  However, as always, I thank you for tuning in.
