On Second Thought, It Is More Like Wuss-out Wednesday

I promised myself a Mid-week Monsters post.  Unfortunately, right now I feel too tired to do any kind of a post at all. No, no!  I must not go back to writing posts about Why I Can’t Write A Post Today!

“Oh no! I have to do a blog post!”

Here is our skeleton Bonita, having a wrist to forehead moment.  I have been having a number of those moments lately.  But I try to carry on as best as I can.  Rehearsal last night went very well, by the way.  I have a great cast!

Not a monster.

I just love this picture of my friend Tucker as Renwick Spaulding, the bug loving murder suspect in Donate to Murder, which we rehearsed last night.  Thus I stray from my Mid-week Monsters theme but at least I am talking about something.  Does that make this Non-Sequitur Wednesday?

I don’t t like the way he’s looking at me.

I return to monsters with this handsome fellow. Love the neck bolts.

I have long had the rule to make my blog posts at least 200 words long.  I don’t know where I got that number, but I’m thinking I may not make it today.  Oops, I just did by wondering if I would.  Does that count?  I don’t care if it does or not; I’m going to bed.

My bed is a little bigger than this.

Happy Wednesday, everyone.

Muddled Monsters? Or Just a Muddled Post?

This is not how I looked on my wedding day.

I thought I would start right out with a monster picture.  I am very tired, and annoyed with myself for being so tired.  How am I ever going to get anything done?  What the hell, me?  And how does any of this relate to the picture I just shared?  Could I be having a Non-Sequitur Monday?  Let’s call it a Muddled Monday.  At least it’s alliterative.

I did get something done today.  I finished writing and emailed two articles with pictures to Mohawk Valley Living magazine.  I hope they publish them.  However, if they do not, it still did me good to write them.  No writing is wasted, because you learn something from writing it.  Also, I can always use it as a blog post.

“This is a good boy!”

Here is a Frankenstein’s Monster who had better luck with his bride than Boris Karloff had with Elsa Lanchester.  Oh dear, ought I to have included a spoiler alert?  Too late.

I can always use a little cuteness on a Monday.

I thought I would muddle things up a little more, veering into a cute little vampire.  I have absolutely no problem with cute monsters.

I guess this was not a particularly cute blog post, but it is over 200 words.  Did it do me good to write it?  I daresay it did.  I hope it was at least mildly entertaining to read.

Apparently I Can Also Whine And Post

The run of Blogger’s Sick Days continues with a brief Tired Tuesday post.  I spent most of the day at work whining that I didn’t feel good and I wanted to go home. Fortunately I can work and whine at the same time (although in general I do not believe in multi-tasking), so I was not completely useless.  They frown upon complete uselessness at my place of employment.  However,  this is not a work blog, so enough about that topic.

Hmmm… there does not seem to be much else to say.  I feel sick, here’s my blog post.  Rather a dull post.  Perhaps I could pep things up with something from my Media Library.

Reflective of my mood?

Here is a shot of storm clouds moving into my neighborhood.  I observed some good dark clouds on my drive home from work, but I did not have anything to photograph them with.

Oh, just shoot me.

I guess this makes it Non-Sequitur Tuesday.   It is Bette Davis in The Letter, a movie I do not have on DVD but catch when I can on TCM.

I would love to have this mug in my collection.

Now we’re back to sequiturs,  because Davis was certainly a deadly woman in that movie.

And now I am over 200 words.  Deadly or not, this has been my Tired Tuesday post.

I Hope Nobody Comes Along and Drops a House on Me

Our area is under a severe thunderstorm warning.  Naturally Steven and I went out to sit on the deck till it got here.  We each took a glass of wine, and I brought my Tablet, to take a picture or two for blogging purposes.

I’m not sure the Tablet captures the color and light.

This is the view over our back fence.  One of my favorite skies is a dark one hit by sunshine.  This was not as dramatic as some I have seen, but I believe in appreciating what I see.  We sat down, sipped our wine and chatted.  Eventually I took another picture.

What do you see in the clouds?

This is to my left.  I think some of the clouds may be the same as in the other shot, but it is hard to say.  I decided to walk put front and see what the clouds looked like there.

“It’s probably not as dark,” I predicted.  I was correct.  However, as I got ready to take a picture of the blue sky and white clouds, I saw that darker ones were moving in.  I tried to capture both.

Pretty ominous!

When I showed that one to Steven, he said I should send it to Jill Reale.  For non-local readers (and local readers who don’t happen to know), Jill Reale is the meteorologist on WKTV morning news.  She shares weather photos that readers send to her via social media.  How proud I would be to be featured!  So I posted it on her Facebook page.

I sat back down.  Soon we picked up our wine glasses, because the wind had picked up.

“I should make a video of this,” I said, watching tree branches whip back and forth.  I don’t know that I am technologically advanced enough for video.

In any case, it soon started to rain, so we came inside, and I made this blog post.  I wonder if I can come up with a headline striking enough to constitute a Non-Sequitur Thursday post.

Is It Romantic?

Happy Valentine’s Day from Mohawk Valley Girl.  I am tired and wanting to watch 20/20 on OWN, so I am going to give a brief overview of our Valentine’s Day activities, hit Publish and move on.  I find that appropriate for Non-Sequitur Thursday.

I was late getting home, never mind why, I’ll tell you later, if I remember to, no promises.  I had to email my article and pictures for the March issue to Mohawk Valley Living magazine.  I hope they like it.  I had mentioned to Steven that there was a Korbel tasting at Valley Wine and Liquor at five.  He did not remember my mentioning it but was amenable to attending such a thing.

After I got my submissions taken care of, I showered and put on a Valentine outfit.  I tried to take a picture of it, but I am incapable of taking a decent selfie, so never mind.  Just take my word for it that I looked good.  We went to taste some champagne.  We liked it and bought a bottle of Rose Brut.  Or was it Brut Rose?  I cannot be bothered to go out to the kitchen to look at the bottle or find the little notebook I took my tasting notes in.

We continued our evening with dinner at Salvatore’s in Herkimer.  Yum!  I could do entire blog posts about the tasting or the dinner, and I do not rule that out.  In the meantime, I repeat, Happy Valentine’s Day, and Happy Non-Sequitur Thursday to one and all!

What Would Barbara Stanwyck Do?

It is one of those stare at a blank computer screen kind of blogging days.  This won’t do.  I’ll pep things up (most notably myself) with a picture.

Who will give Valentine Ducky a kiss? Will Cher do it?

This is a picture from last February, when Steven decorated our mantle for Valentine’s Day. The wine glass with the lips and the rubber ducky are there again this year, but, as I mentioned in an early post, it is not a particularly seasonal decor.

I just used this recently, but I include it for comparison’s sake.

As I enjoy the first few days of the month, I am still getting used to the idea that it IS a new month.  Now I have to think about Valentine’s Day.  And I have less time before I have to worry about my murder mysteries in March and April.  Ooh, and I need to be getting my article(s) written for Mohawk Valley Living magazine.  All of a sudden, I am thinking I have every reason in the world for it to be Wrist to Forehead Sunday!

Perhaps I should pop in a film noir and pour myself a glass of pinot noir.

How about if I make it a Non-Sequitur Sunday instead and throw in a couple of unrelated photos.  Double Indemnity, shown above, is  good movie to watch on a Sunday afternoon.   Had I watched it earlier, I might have managed a Sunday Cinema post.  And while we’re on the subject of What Might Have Been, I went running this morning — outside in the snow — in hopes of making a Running Commentary post.

Most unusual suspects.

I shall close with a photo of a past murder mystery, A G.R.A.V.E. Murder, which was presented in October of 2017 to benefit the Herkimer County Historical Society.  I post it to inspire myself to finish my latest deadly opus (hmmm, how does Deadly Opus sound for a title?).  At least I have managed a blog post of over 300 words.  I say not bad for a Sunday.  Bring on the rest of the week!

Words, Work, What to Do?

So I did not make my Non-Sequitur Thursday post on Thursday.  Judge me if you like, I shall not explain, because explanations are tiresome.  I am sitting at my laptop with coffee at 4:30 in the morning (which is actually a normal time for me to be out of bed on a workday), and I’m going to type a few words and hit publish.  Then on to my last day of work before two weeks off, yes.

Here is a Freudian typo:  when I went to put “workday” just now, my fingers first typed “word.”  Since I want to be a writer (technically I am a writer, but I dream of finishing longer things than blog posts and murder mysteries), I find that appropriate.  Next Freudian typo:  I typed “wend” instead of “went.” This implies that I am wending my way through this post. Quite appropriate for a Non-Sequitur Thursday.

“Ah, about that…”

I thought I would throw in a picture of Nosferatu, just because.  On the one hand, I feel that makes this more of a non-sequitur post.  On the other hand, if you actually say you are making a non-sequitur, I think it makes it less of a non-sequitur.  And now I veer into half-baked philosophy, the purview (I love that word, purview) of Lame Post Friday.  And since it is, in fact, actually Friday, now I am veering back into sequitur territory.  What is a blogger to do?

Which is not the same thing as “I saw what you did there.”

When in doubt, throw in another picture.  I loves me some William Castle.

Incidentally, this is what I felt like yesterday, when I missed posting.

I just grabbed the next picture I saw in my Media Library (“Media Library” should be said in snooty tones), because I want to finish this up.  I am over 300 words, which is a little long for a foolish post, especially a late one.  If only I could think of a silly headline, my life would be perfect.  Late Happy Thursday and Early Happy Friday, folks!

And My Feet Are Cold

I thought of that headline, because it is true.  I thought, I could put on slippers, or just go with it.  I am feeling lazy, as you might guess by the relative lateness of my blog post (if you even noticed that) (come to think of it, regular readers already know me as fairly lazy; don’t judge) (or should I say, I hope you are too lazy to judge me).

I just paused, wanting to make a few parenthetical comments but fearing to overdo it, and caught the end of Remember the Titans, which Steven was watching and I was paying cursory attention to.  I had to pause further to bawl my eyes out.  I read somewhere that they played a little loose with some facts in order to make an uplifting movie about race relations, but I do not at all care.  It is historical fiction, and it tells a wonderful story.

I thought to pep things up with a picture.

Steven has been watching his favorite movies a lot lately.  Earlier we enjoyed Mary Poppins.  I loves me some Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke!  Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!  Full disclosure:  I do not know how to spell that word; I googled it.

It’s a Jolly Holiday with Mary!

Steven wanted to follow Remember the Titans with something fun so is about to watch Chicago.  That makes three movies with really great soundtracks.  At least Chicago won’t make me cry.  Yes, I cried during Mary Poppins.  Again, I hope you are too lazy to judge me.

Now that I have finished my post, I wonder what it really is.  I feel Wrist to Forehead Sunday is appropriate, what with all the tears shed.  Then again, given the headline, maybe I should call it Non-Sequitur Sunday.  The agony of indecision tilts the scale toward Wrist to Forehead Sunday.  This you can judge me on.

And All That Jazz!
