Just Another Slacker Sunday

I tried to make a blog post earlier but once again ran afoul of my Media Library.  I said to hell with it and was going to trust my luck in the morning but decided to give it one more try.  Imagine my delight when I found I could select Classic Editor.  Will it help me make a better post? We shall see.

It has been something of a Slacker Sunday.  I went for a two mile walk but not till later in the morning.  Still later I did a load of laundry.  Just now I finally made my lunch for tomorrow.  Other than that, I watched movies and read a novel.

The post I started to write was a Sunday Cinema post, since we had enjoyed one of my favorites, Severed Head Sunday.  That was when I got bogged down searching my Media Library for pictures I was quite certain I had shared before.  Only after I failed to find them did I think, why should I repeat myself this way?  Obviously I have talked about these movies before.  Do I have anything new to say about them?  Quite possibly I do, but we will not find that out tonight.

So I guess this is yet another post about Why I Can’t Make a Blog Post Today.  Talk about repeating myself!  What the hell, me?  On the brighter side, I am over 200 words and tomorrow’s lunch is made.  That makes this less of a Wrist to Forehead Sunday.  I’ll just get back to dreading Monday.  Once again, thank you for tuning in.

Mid-Week Monsters, Can You Help Me Now?

In fact, I have not been using the best of posture.

I think the best I can hope for today is a Mid-Week Monsters Post. How long has it been since I have resorted to monsters? I am too lazy to go back and check.

NOT me as a bride.

As I attempted to search my Media Library for monster pictures not recently shared, I found this sweet lady. Alas, she was at an antique shop since closed. It is a very sad aspect of this area: businesses close.

Spooky fun!

This was a neighborhood house a few years ago. Alas, I fear it was a rental house, so no promises about future Halloween displays. Then again, I guess there are never guarantees.

Too cute not to share again!

I felt I needed one more picture and found this adorable skeleton, nestled in a mug my husband Steve got for me from Herkimer County Historical Society. Regular readers may remember that Fabulous and Fatal was a murder we presented for their benefit.

Once again I apologize for a post that is not up to standard. What standard, you may wonder. I have no good answer. Perhaps I could address the question in a future blog post, but no promises.

I’m Feeling a Little Cantankerous Myself

I was about to make this week’s Monstrous Monday Post, and my Tablet is behaving in a most cantankerous fashion. I did say that all my problems are of the First World variety, did I not? Well, I will try to make the post. No promises.

Doesn’t anybody have a can of Raid?

Here is Joan Collins, having a rather bad time of it in Empire of the Ants. I seem to recall enjoying that movie a lot more than I enjoyed Them, the other famous giant ant flick. Does Them have an exclamation point? Them? Note to self: look that up when the Tablet is behaving itself.

Where did he get that manicure?

I do like to include my favorite, Nosferatu. He is so delightfully creepy. I must watch that movie again. Only it is problematic, because it is a silent movie. I cannot easily knit or crochet during a silent movie.

Young love, ain’t it grand?

I don’t know what I was looking for, but I over-scrolled in my Media Library and it began to freeze up. I was able to grab the monster and his bride and get out before anything untoward happened.

Well, that makes three pictures, which is my usual quota, and at least 200 words. I say, Score! Once again, I shall get out before anything untoward happens.

Operator Error on Wrist to Forehead Sunday

I am trying to post more often and feel I can manage a Wrist to Forehead Sunday Post. Or maybe not. Quick, put in a picture to pep things up.

Everything’s coming up rose`?

This is not the picture I was looking for, but it takes FOREVER to scroll through my Media Library. A problem with WordPress or with my Tablet? Or is it, as is often the case with me, Operator Error? However, the above picture is appropriate, because I did enjoy a glass of rose` earlier. The accent is wrong, but I do not know how to put on a proper accent. That is definitely Operator Error.

I know just how you feel, dear!

After searching the Media Library once again, the best image I can find is our skeleton Bonita having a wrist to forehead moment of her own. What can I do? The internet defeats me.

It seems odd to me that after over 10 years of writing this blog, technical difficulties are causing this much problem. I have clicked of the Ask The Expert option on my WordPress site, but apparently I did not do that right either. What the hell, me?

In any case, I think I have eked out at least 200 words from this nonsense. I will try again tomorrow. Maybe before I start on the rose`.

Steve Is Up, And I Have Coffee

I started to make a post last night but thought, “I can’t make another Throwback Thursday Post! I had a headache anyways (had one all day) so went to bed early. Now it is prior to five on Friday morning, coffee isn’t done yet, cable is on the fritz, my husband is still in bed, headache in abeyance (pray God that continues!), and any blog post at all seems like a pretty good thing to do.

By the way, you may have noticed that I said “five in the morning,” NOT “5 a.m. in the morning.” Remember that: you only have to say “a.m.” OR “in the morning.” You do not have to say both, and indeed it is incorrect to do so. The weather people keep saying things like, “tomorrow morning at 5 a.m.” and I shout at the television, “You said ‘in the morning,’ you don’t have to say ‘a.m.’ ! ”

I do not shout very loudly; I’m not a maniac, after all. Still, it amazes me that a society that insists on saying “merch” and “the fam” because they can’t be bothered with saying “mercandise” and “the family ” (I believe I wrote a blog post on the subject) does not mind putting in the extra syllables to say “a.m. in the morning.”

Well, that rant got me to 200 words. I guess I’ll throw in a picture to pep things up and have some coffee.

Can’t wait to see this!

And it’s April 1. We have that going for us.

Another Stroll Down Memory Lame

Hello and welcome to another Late Lame Post Friday post. I started to post something yesterday, but it was dumb. I saved it, in case I can return to it later and un-dumb it, but for now I gave it up. I wonder if the coffee is ready.

Well, here is an aggravating discovery. Not everything is saved in my Media Library. Before I returned to making this post, I looked at my On This Day in Facebook. I saw a blog post featuring a wonderful picture of the Little Falls Theatre (LiFT) production of The Tempest. Regular readers may remember I referenced that play in Thursday’s post. Which was also late. Oh dear.

Kids these days!

Since I tempted you with The Tempest (see what I did there?), I returned to the disgraced Media Library and found another picture. It is not as fabulous as the other one. For one reason, I am not in it (I definitely flatter myself that time). The above photo is Prospera, right, telling her daughter, Miranda, the facts of life.

A backstage shot.

I might as well run with the Tempest theme and re-share the pictures I have. I forget these two characters’ names, but they were not nice to my character. In real life they were pretty awesome.

“Stay Shakespeare, my friends.”

I close with my friend Tucker impersonating The Most Interesting in the World. I think Tucker could give that guy a run for his money.

I guess I am coming up with a lot of reasons to re-visit the past: Wayback Wednesday, Throwback Thursday, and now Memory Lame. I need to start having some new adventures!

All the More Reason to Swoon

I have said that a Monday through Friday day shift schedule suits me. However, I confess to sometimes having a problem with Sundays, hence my feature Wrist to Forehead Sunday. For anyone just tuning in, this refers to the dramatic pose with which one swoons onto a chaise lounge or other handy faint-on-able surface. Before anybody starts playing the miniature violins or rolling their eyes, I KNOW this is what they call a First World Problem, and, yes, I laugh at myself for having it. For heaven’s sake, when I talk about swooning on chaise lounges, doesn’t that sound like I am making fun of myself? Sheesh!

I just searched my Media Library looking for an illustration of me with my wrist on my forehead. I thought I had one. This gives me even more reason to swoon! Or I could just get over myself.

It has not been too bad of a weekend. The weather disappointed, but you’ll have that. I disappointed myself by not getting much done. That you will also have. I feel sure that the best thing to do in these situations is to try to do better going forward.

That was frustrating. I tried again to find the picture I wanted, failed, settled on another picture, and could not get it into the post! My only comfort is that I am over 200 words. Will I make a better blog post tomorrow? I hope you will tune in and fond out.

Throwback? Non-Sequitur? It’s a Mystery!

Wordless Wednesday turned out pretty good (or do I flatter myself?), so I thought I would go for a Throwback Thursday Post. I’ve had those before. If I throw back to something I have thrown before, sorry.

A couple of suspicious individuals.

Here is an appropriate memory: a murder mystery dinner theatre which benefited the Herkimer County Historical Society. It was titled Secrets at Suiter House. It is appropriate, because I am currently writing and recruiting actors for another murder mystery, as yet untitled.

This is not how this looks today, but tomorrow…?

I am having a great deal of trouble navigating my Media Library, as indeed I did yesterday. As a matter of fact, yesterday I sought but did not find a picture of snow. Now I was looking for another murder mystery picture and found snow. No matter. I can just bill this as a Non-Sequitur Thursday Post.

I hate to play the illness card again, but can I just say I am still not feeling the least bit well. What the hell, body? I have things to do and blog posts to write! Can I find one more picture to pull this post together?

I loves me some Bette and Joan.

This picture is appropriate for both a Throwback and Non-Sequitur Thursday Posts. It is a publicity shot from when Joan Crawford and Bette Davis were set to star in Hush… Hush, Sweet Charlotte in 1964. Crawford subsequently left the production. That is pretty far back. Come to think about it, it is not a complete non-sequitur, because the movie is a murder mystery. It’s a good movie. I highly recommend it.

I am not sure I can recommend this blog post, but you’ll have that. If only I could think of a title…

Raiding my Media Library

I thought I would try for a Wordless Wednesday Post using pictures from my Media Library. Of course I am never completely wordless (although many wish I was) (you know who you are). Let us see what I can find.

So pretty!

That was difficult. I enjoyed scrolling down, remembering this and that picture. Yet none of them seemed right for the post. I finally settled on this flower, because I am longing for spring.

Looks more like a rummage sale.

This is not the picture I meant to share, but I had a little trouble scrolling and clicking. As usual, technology eludes me. This is an indoor garage sale in Dolgeville, NY. I found some pretty good stuff there. I’d like to go to another trash to treasure sale, but I need to clean my house first. I will not share a picture of the mess I currently live in. It would be too embarrassing.

Gee, I wish I’d have said that.

I close with a pun. This is not photoshopped (like I would know how to do that!) but is an authentic headline of the Utica OD. That is Observer-dispatch, as you can see on the masthead, not overdose, as you may be forgiven for thinking.

Cheesy Memories

Instead of a Monstrous Monday Post,I thought I would try for Monday Memories. I can still utilize my Media Library, and it will be something a little different. I hope.

I just wore this shirt yesterday!

Here is a memory and a plug for one of my favorite local businesses, Original Herkimer Cheese. I took the picture of the shirt on my first visit to the place and purchased it shortly thereafter. I love it, because, as regular readers know, I love all things cheesy (actually there are probably a few cheesy things I would not care for, but I like the sound of “all things cheesy”).

Just a few of the products available.

I have sadly not been to Original Herkimer Cheese in a while. Now that I think about it, I could really go for some Chudder. Maybe in a couple different flavors…

You can see all their products at originalherkimercheese.com.
