Will I Have the Last Laugh?

I meant to make a post using more pictures taken on a recent walk, but those pictures are on my phone and here I am on my Tablet.  Still, the phone is on the coffee table.  I could pick it up and look…

Or not.  My only purpose now is to make a Post-Rehearsal Post.  And I might even eat an ice cream cone out of the freezer before I do so.

It is not actually chocolate running down this head.

I put in an unrelated picture to show the passage of time while I ate ice cream.  I do not remember if I actually used this picture to give a shout-out to Yettys Pizza and Pasta of Herkimer, NY.  I must look at my past posts and make sure I have done so.

Did somebody say murder mystery?

I scrolled through my Media Library till I found a picture of a murder mystery, because the rehearsal I was at was for a murder mystery: He Laughed Himself to Death.  It will be presented on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Herkimer Elks Lodge, to benefit Herkimer County Historical Society.

I just now copied this from Facebook.

Now I have given a proper shout-out to the murder mystery.   I am going to bill this as a Non-Sequitur Thursday Post,  because I have been a little all over the place.  If only I could think of a sufficiently random headline, my life would be perfect.

Lame Me Think a Minute

Does it count as a late post when you go to bed but wake up around 1 a.m., can’t sleep, and say, “Oh hell, I’ll make my blog post.”?  One could argue both sides, but I don’t suppose it matters.  Full disclosure:  I also can’t think of anything to say in a blog post.  Then again, this is my Lame Post Friday post.  Let’s see what I can come up with.

Here’s a weird thing.  As I typed in “come up  with”  my head was thinking “put up with.”  I am one finger pecking on my Tablet (I misplaced the stylus), and I seem to be doing it even more slowly than usual.  Hence, as I think the words and type them, my brain has plenty of time to come up with alternative phrasings, appropriate or not.

I just realized, this is kind of an improvement.  In many of my recent blog posts, I have been whining about being brain dead.  Now my brain is… oh this is funny.  As I was debating whether my brain was “kind of working” or “marginally functioning” or perhaps merely “coming up with things,”  my predictive text thingy suggested “not responding”.

“You called?”

Just thought I would throw in The Brain from the Planet Arous, since we were talking about brains.  Illustrations do pep up a post, don’t they?

And I see I am over 200 lame words.  Score! I wonder if I could sleep now.  My body says, “No promises.”

Not a Promising Blog Post

What the hell? I just typed in about two paragraphs worth of words, and they are nowhere to be seen!

That is what I ten-finger typed on my laptop (regular readers may recall that now it is exclusively a dining-room-tabletop) after attempting to make a Pre-Rehearsal Post. With the laptop there tends to be a delay, especially when I type fast, as I often do. So I just let my fingers fly then wait for the words to magically appear. Today they did not. In frustration, I typed in the preceding paragraph and gave it up till after rehearsal.

Now it is after rehearsal, and I am reclined in by bed, pecking in one letter at a time with the stylus on my Tablet, which is what I have sadly become used to doing. I am also sadly becoming used to making post after post about, well, nothing in particular. I must do something about that, but I can’t seem to think of any steps I can take right now.

The best thing I can think to do is bill it as a Tired Tuesday Post and hope that tomorrow I can come up with something better than Wuss-Out Wednesday. But as regular readers know, I never make promises about these things.

25-Inch Lame

Can I make my Lame Post Friday post on Friday? I intend to try. But first, can I just point out that my Tablet’s predictive text thingy is very inconsistent? It used to be, when I typed in “Lame,” “Post Friday post” was automatically suggested. Tonight it was not. Then again, “used to be” is a pretty useless thing to say. When somebody else says it, I usually say, “I used to have a 25-inch waistline. Things change!”

Incidentally, it is true that I once had such a small waistline. I do not expect to have one ever again, which will be all right with me. I have other things to worry about.

My waistline was never this small.

I thought I would throw in a picture to pep up the post. This is our skeleton Bonita and her friend Bonaparte. She is dressed n her last year’s summer outfit. She has not dressed for summer yet. Maybe this weekend…

One of my many summer outfits.

I share this picture to show me in the same headband as Bonita’s, not to emphasize my lack of 25-inch waist. I am at Fratello’s Pizzeria in Frankfort, NY, I add in order to give a brief shout-out to a local business.

I see I am over 200 words. Yay! I’m going to call it a blog post and go back to enjoying my Friday.

Where’s My Brain When I Need It?

My Tablet seems to be working as slowly as my brain, which does not bode well for today’s blog post. Never mind, I’ll just bill it as a Non-Sequitur Thursday and hope for the best. I also hope my Media Library will cooperate to the extent of sharing a photo or two.

A similar view to one I have enjoyed recently.

I scrolled down looking for something that could be construed as a Throwback Thursday and found this. I have neither worn those sneakers nor drunk beer in a while. Perhaps I will remedy that omission on Fourth of July weekend. I do like to drink Sam Adams beer for the holiday.

I think he looks suspicious.

Veering off in another direction (I did say this was Non-Sequitur Thursday), here is a shot from Secrets at Suiter House, one of the murder mysteries we put on to benefit the Herkimer County Historical Society. That was one of my favorite scripts. My husband, Steve especially liked it, because he got to be the dead body.

My hair is longer now.

OK, back to booze. When I said earlier I had not drunk beer in a while, I meant just that: beer. I have had wine. The above picture is from 2020 (note the mask), but I have enjoyed a glass or two since then.

I see I am over 200 words. Score! If only I could think of a punchy title, my life would be perfect.

No Rehearsal Post

I am taking a Blogger’s Sick Day. I should be at rehearsal as I type this (on the Tablet, one letter at a time with the stylus) (why do I always feel the need to say that?). I never miss rehearsal! I guess I should say almost never. Oh dear.

Why is my Tablet underlining the second “rehearsal” in the previous paragraph? Another mystery to ponder. However, I will ponder it later. Now I am going to lie down. No doubt I will feel better tomorrow.

I’m Feeling a Little Cantankerous Myself

I was about to make this week’s Monstrous Monday Post, and my Tablet is behaving in a most cantankerous fashion. I did say that all my problems are of the First World variety, did I not? Well, I will try to make the post. No promises.

Doesn’t anybody have a can of Raid?

Here is Joan Collins, having a rather bad time of it in Empire of the Ants. I seem to recall enjoying that movie a lot more than I enjoyed Them, the other famous giant ant flick. Does Them have an exclamation point? Them? Note to self: look that up when the Tablet is behaving itself.

Where did he get that manicure?

I do like to include my favorite, Nosferatu. He is so delightfully creepy. I must watch that movie again. Only it is problematic, because it is a silent movie. I cannot easily knit or crochet during a silent movie.

Young love, ain’t it grand?

I don’t know what I was looking for, but I over-scrolled in my Media Library and it began to freeze up. I was able to grab the monster and his bride and get out before anything untoward happened.

Well, that makes three pictures, which is my usual quota, and at least 200 words. I say, Score! Once again, I shall get out before anything untoward happens.

Lamest Fast Words

You know, like Famous Last Words. I may have used that title before. I could go back and check, but my Tablet is so slow and I am so lazy. Actually, lazy would make a slow Tablet OK, because I would be just sitting here waiting. As Inigo Montoya said, I hate waiting.

Where was I? Ah yes, making a late Lame Post Friday post. A nice reader commented that she enjoyed Lame Post Friday, then I inconsiderately did not make one the following week. Or was it two weeks? See above paragraph about going back and checking.

I got up earlier than I meant to (stupid insomnia), got dressed to go running, but walked instead. I apparently did something bad to my hip on last Saturday’s run. We may not see another Running Commentary Post for a while.

As I type lame words (pecking one letter at a time with the stylus, as you may have guessed since I mentioned the Tablet), I contemplate my Saturday. Will it be filled with Mohawk Valley Adventures? Will I blog about them? Will pictures be included? A little suspense adds interest to my morning.

I am feeling mildly pleased with myself, because I have posted every day since, correct me if I am wrong, Monday. Were they good posts? Let us not ask for miracles, but thank you for tuning in.

Operator Error on Wrist to Forehead Sunday

I am trying to post more often and feel I can manage a Wrist to Forehead Sunday Post. Or maybe not. Quick, put in a picture to pep things up.

Everything’s coming up rose`?

This is not the picture I was looking for, but it takes FOREVER to scroll through my Media Library. A problem with WordPress or with my Tablet? Or is it, as is often the case with me, Operator Error? However, the above picture is appropriate, because I did enjoy a glass of rose` earlier. The accent is wrong, but I do not know how to put on a proper accent. That is definitely Operator Error.

I know just how you feel, dear!

After searching the Media Library once again, the best image I can find is our skeleton Bonita having a wrist to forehead moment of her own. What can I do? The internet defeats me.

It seems odd to me that after over 10 years of writing this blog, technical difficulties are causing this much problem. I have clicked of the Ask The Expert option on my WordPress site, but apparently I did not do that right either. What the hell, me?

In any case, I think I have eked out at least 200 words from this nonsense. I will try again tomorrow. Maybe before I start on the rose`.
