Is It Saturday Already?

The late posts continue with a Late Lame Post Friday post.  At least I have coffee, if not much brain power or motivation.

Like I’ll ever be this skinny!

I did have a couple of Mohawk Valley adventures yesterday and remembered to take pictures.  Unfortunately the pictures are in my phone, which is across the room being charged.  I may bestir myself to get more coffee, but otherwise I am staying comfortably lounged on the couch.

My allergies are becoming quite tiresome lately.  I thought the frosts we had would help, but I reckoned without my indoor allergies.  I posted on Facebook that I am allergic to cleaning.  Some might argue that it is all the dust, but I stand by my statement.  Regular readers may recall that my house is in a terrible mess and has been for some years.  I continue to make progress in bits and pieces.  I even clear away some of the dust I stir up.

Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, there could be no possible objection.

I was searching my Media Library for a picture of my messy house but got tired of it so decided to share an old favorite.  It is a publicity shot for Hush… Hush, Sweet Charlotte, which was to have been a kind of a follow-up to Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?  Unfortunately, Crawford dropped out (long story, but pretty interesting).  Olivia de Havilland stepped in, and the resulting movie is one of my favorites.  Unpopular opinion: I’ve  never been a fan of Baby Jane.

Well now I’ve rattled on for over 250 words.  I call that respectable.  I hope you all had a lovely Friday, and I hope your Saturday is equally as swell.

Memories of Coffee and Steve

I guess I am back to late blog posts as I site here early Friday morning to make a Throwback Thursday post.  I am up early, having gotten up just prior to five o’clock.  I like to be up early; I just don’t like to get up early.  Right now I am not even sure I like to be up early, but at least I have got coffee.  Thank God for coffee!

No fan needed today, though.

Ah, I knew I had a picture of the mug I am currently using.  I wonder if I can get to Dyn’s Cider Mill before they close for the season.  Perhaps a drive there today would be in order (preview of coming attractions?)

I rarely look this perky and cute, no matter the time of day.

I noticed this picture before I found the Dyn’s mug and thought, why not do a coffee mug throwback?  My late, dearly missed husband Steve and I collected many mugs in our years together.  I keep thinking I need to get rid of a few, but getting rid of things is not my strong suit.  Additionally, I use all my coffee mugs.  Many people have one favorite they use all the time, but Steven and I liked to use them all in turn, often depending on season or mood.

A favorite line from a favorite movie.

This was a present from Steve.  He always got me the best presents.  Well now I am throwing back to the great romance of my life.  Perhaps I should close with a picture of Steve.  If I had one of him with a coffee mug, how nice that would be!

Steven with wine is almost as good.

Looking through my Media Library for pictures has reminded me about a lot of good memories I have made on Mohawk Valley adventures.  I should do more Throwback Thursday posts.  And have more Mohawk Valley adventures.  But first, more coffee.

Ten Finger Typing Again!

My Chromebook is charged again.  Phew!  I confess I am in a very wimpy state these days.  The slightest setback slays me.  However, I move forward as best as I can, sometimes one sloggy step at a time.  The Chromebook thinks “sloggy” is not a word, but I find it apt.

Previous loves.

I thought this illustration was appropriate to my title.  I do not really have much to say other than, Yay!  I got my Chromebook back!  I had thought yesterday to make a Running Commentary Post. I ran for 30 minutes, covering about two miles.  That was my longest run since this last time I re-started running.  I may actually be ready for the Reindeer Run 5K in Little Falls, NY in December (preview of coming attractions).  I have no hopes of the Turkey Trot but no real desire to do it anyways.  I will be with family on Thanksgiving.

Coffee makes everything better!

Yes, I am still using Halloween mugs.  I find it difficult to let go of spooky season (oh, let’s be honest:  I never let go of spooky season!  I’ll probably watch a vampire movie later!).  However, as I am fond of pointing out, we can only move forward (even if it is one sloggy step at a time).  I intend to try for more Mohawk Valley Adventures in the coming days.  Maybe I’ll start this morning with breakfast out.  I realized early on in the blogging game:  it is always a good excuse to do something fun!

Slacker, Sick, and No Longer Saturday

Hello and welcome to my late Slacker Saturday post.  It is late morning Sunday; I slept in.  I was having the most fun dreams!  Then I dreamed I was trying to write them out, like a novel that might become a weekly series. But that is not what I meant to write this blog post about.  The fact is, I think I am coming down with something, or else my allergies are reaching dreadful proportions,

Random picture to denote passage of time while I get more coffee.

Last night we had our performance of Curtains for Frangelica, the murder mystery to benefit the Herkimer County Historical Society.  We had a small but fun crowd, and enjoyed a delicious dinner.  In fact, I ate too much, but you’ll have that.  Earlier in the evening, I felt a little icky, but blamed it on my allergies.  I may still blame it on my allergies, although it may be emotional, as I warded off a panic attack at one point with some deep breathing.  Oh dear, how self-dramatizing I am.

Then again, drama is my life!

That is the cast for Rubbed Out at Ruby’s, a murder mystery I often bring up in this blog.  For one reason, I have some great pictures of it.  For another reason, I would like to revive it one day, perhaps with a few modifications, since I probably will not be able to find the original script.

It seems I have skipped around this morning (in the blog, that is; I am not up for that much movement right now), which is not surprising, since my head is doing a little spinning.  I guess I’ll call it a Blogger’s Sick Day and drive on.  Will I manage to make my Wrist to Forehead Sunday post on Sunday?  A little uncertainty adds interest to my day.

A Late Post Concerning Coffee and Procrastination

I did not have a particularly Wrist to Forehead Sunday. I had a pretty good Sunday with a good rehearsal for Curtains for Frangelica.  To make my late Sunday post a little happier, I just figured out what I did to make my post look so odd as I type it.  I went from “Visual” to “Text.”  Let me try to add a picture to see if I really solved the problem.

My delightful cast.

The picture also denoted passage of time while I went and got more coffee.  I actually put on coffee last night instead of waiting till morning to do it, as I have regrettably been doing lately.  It is interesting how often one can say, “Oh, I’ll do it later,” then later be annoyed one did not do it at the time.  And yet one never learns.  One being me, of course.  I am sure any number of you have learned that lesson and are feeling rather smug right now (you know who you are). But I digress.

I had thought this blog might become All Curtains for Frangelica All the Time, with our performance set for this Saturday, Oct. 12, but apparently I am more into typing inanities about coffee and procrastination.

Still one writes what one can, even if one fears that, as Truman Capote once said, That’s not writing, that’s typing.  Once again, one being me.

Fairly Entertained by Autocorrect

Late posts. It was a thing before and it is a thing now. Here I am Wednesday morning making my Tired Tuesday post. In fact, I am still a little tired from Tuesday, because my coffee is still brewing (just to show how tired I am: I typed “viewing” for “brewing”) (but I think my coffee is done now).

Random picture to denote passage of time while I get coffee.

Ah, coffee.  Even one sip makes me feel better.  I just occurred to me:  I may not have typed “viewing”  I could have mistyped “brewing” and autocorrect “fixed” it for me.  Autocorrect is weird.  Sometimes it changes what I type to what it thinks I mean, and sometimes it just underlines it in red. Right now “mistyped” and “autcorrect” are underlined (“autocorrect” is underlined now four times, once with a capital A) (I add in the interests of accuracy).  Autocorrect is starting to look wrong, but I do not know how else to spell it. “Mistyped” I am comfortable with.

I think the random picture was prescient, because this certainly seems like the wrong way to make a blog post.  But some people might get a chuckle out of it.  As I like to say, it isn’t easy being me, but it is fairly entertaining.

My outsides aren’t doing too well, either.

I add another picture for further entertainment purposes and adjourn for more coffee. Happy Tuesday/Wednesday everyone!

I Oversleep, But I Post

I overslept, my coffeemaker is taking a long time to brew, and my eyes have that filmy thing going on which blinking only helps temporarily.  Sounds like a good basis for a late Tired Tuesday post.

I neglected once again to take a picture of last night’s rehearsal for a proper Post-Rehearsal Post.  It was a disappointing rehearsal, because two cast members were absent.  They both had good reasons, and the three of us that were there read through the script twice.  We meet again tomorrow (Thursday) when I fear I will not be present.  Oh dear.

Random picture to denote passage of time while I get coffee.

I am in fact using the same coffee cup as yesterday but feel it is excessive to use the same picture two days in a row (the eye film thing almost made me miss that I had at first typed “feet” for “feel”).  I will confess that I am not feeling well and have not felt well all week.  Nothing serious, I’m sure, just severe allergy symptoms getting me down, I think.  I feel a little bad whining about it. Not bad enough not to whine, apparently.

Fun picture to distract from my whining.

So we have another placeholder post.  Why is this better than no post at all?  Discuss amongst yourselves.

Up Early to be Late, uh, I Mean Lame

I really meant to make my Lame Post Friday post on Friday.  I even logged onto WordPress and hit Add New Post (Classic Editor, to be exact).  I couldn’t even type something in and backspace it out.  Now it is Saturday morning, early for some but a reasonable time for me (six-ish) (see, I don’t always have to be exact), and I am sipping my first cup of coffee with gratitude.

I wonder where that little vampire is.

That took me a bit to find in my Media Library, but it is the coffee mug I am currently using.  And the coffee is giving me a hot flash. Ugh.  Somebody told me the hot flashes would go away eventually, and then I would always be cold.  I won’t mind that; I love wearing big old sweatshirts and I haven’t been able to in years.  At least, I can put them on, but taking them off and putting them on again with my fluctuating body temperatures is annoying.  They get stuck on my earrings and mess up my hair, which is rarely any great shakes to begin with.

They love to climb!

This shot is actually from a February visit to the park with my great-niece and -nephew, Evie and Sheppy (perhaps you read my blog post about it).  I include it because I hope to be getting together with them and my sister Cheryl later today.  If I can get my shit done in time (preview of coming attractions) (getting together with Sheppy and Evie, not the shit I have to do).

Evie didn’t realize I am dizzy enough to begin with.

I include this picture just because I like it.

Early Morning Monsters

As I embark on my second cup of coffee early Monday morning, I faced a decision:  take a walk or make a blog post.  Sitting the couch ten-finger typing and continuing to sip coffee won.

Aaaahh, coffee!

This is the mug I am using.  I was using it yesterday, too, and wanted to put it in the blog post.  I find it appropriate for the time of year (aficionados know the Halloween season begins the day after Labor Day) and for a Monstrous Monday post.

Scary? Or just old?

This picture was in my Media Library near the picture of the mug.  I use it to keep the post local, since I took the picture on one of my walks around the neighborhood.  It is, perhaps, a little in advance of the current season, but I like it.  It isn’t as scary as other rotting pumpkins I’ve seen; some of them mildew inside and the mouth becomes a rotting black hole.  Nice!

I think she’s pretty!

For another local photo, here is my skeleton Bonita, wearing a pet mask I picked up at a rummage sale and holding black tulips a fell0w cast member gifted me after making them for a prop in a murder mystery.  I never put her in her summer outfit this year; it was a kind of a bad summer, but that’s a long story, not very interesting.  I have yet to dress her for Halloween (yes, she is naturally dressed for Halloween, but since she is a year-round skeleton, I like to give her a little something extra).  In fact, she is sitting on a chair almost buried in some costumes I need to return to another fellow murder mystery actor.

Now I am over 250 words and have three pictures.  Score!  And my Monday blog post is done!  Could this be the start of another streak?  I can only hope!  Once again, thank you for tuning in.

Oh Crap! Who Shall I Kill?

So I posted Tuesday for Monday then neglected to post Tuesday and Wednesday.  It is now Thursday morning and I believe I am rapidly losing what is left of my mind.  For one reason, I started to type in “neglected” but started out “deg”  then stared at it wondering why it looked wrong.  Coffee, please kick in soon.

Oh crap, I can’t find the picture I am looking for.

I was searching for a coffee mug other than the Halloween one I have been showing lately, specifically the one I am actually using from Dyn’s Cider Mill (brief shout-out to a local business) (come to think of it, I must go there soon).  I know I have one but it proved elusive. I decided plastic poop would do.

As I struggle with blogging and most other things in my life (not whining, just observing; I know we all struggle), I sometimes get a few things done.  One thing was to set an actual date of the murder mystery I am writing to benefit the Herkimer County Historical Society.  October 12.  Why I had it in my head they wanted the first weekend in November, I do not know.  However, I had an inspiration for a better victim and plot (a little easier to write, too), so I am going great guns.  Additionally, I have emailed several potential actors.

Now who would kill a beautiful lady like this?

Unfortunately only one actor has emailed me back, but I expect to hear from the others as I go along.  In the meantime, I hope to finish the script this weekend.  It is so fun to write when things just clip along, as they sometimes do.

In the meantime, I hope to return to my previous daily habit of making blog posts.  I thank everybody for tuning in.
